I recently had a father with a gifted child who was going to U. of Texas for business. The student had taken junior college course work and graduated from high school with honors. U.of Texas required him to take a math test to enter his junior year of classes. When he previewed the test, he realized he had never see or been introduced to trig functions. The test was littered with those problems. We met for five weeks in the summer and determined his math levels, and began from there. He passed his test and saved himself all the pre-requisites for U. of Texas and several thousands of dollars.
