I am a commercial flooring contractor in Austin with over 15 years experience. I found Brian and Aisha on thumbtack. They executed an excellent installation at my Mother In-laws house in McKinney. They installed a superior product and provided greater service for about the same cost of big box stores. If you are on the fence or being told different information, you should highly consider using them for your project.

Functional Conceptz (Brian and Aisha) were truly professional and have integrity running business for many years. We've shopped around, we received several estimates offers from small contractors to big bucks/chain-stores businesses, but we selected Functional Conceptz for many good reasons: They showed professionalism and understanding the project, provided prompt response, and the most important honesty. They saved us big bucks: I had already paid for the thin-set and they reminded us that we should return it since it was included in the contract, this is might not happen if honesty was not one important factor of their business performance. Their crew were on time from start to finish, working out a great job (see the photos). They moved the heavy furniture, appliances, fast, polite and they cleaned up after. Brian and Aisha at Functional Conceptz saved us money, time and returned quality at home and peace in mind. I would highly recommend them. One more thing, I checked on their business and personal background and records (I got bitten before), they are sharp clean and clear. we asked aisha to furnish an apartment completely for us in Plano, Tx while still living in New Mexico. we gave her about a month to have it fully ready for us to move into upon our arrival in Tx. She not only had it ready, within budget, beautifully decorated, but met us at the door. She did an excellent job selecting furniture of quality, still within budget. She also "read my mind" well enough to select items we enjoy, and expect to use for many years to come. Her decorating skills are outstanding. This is one example in our lives when nothing went wrong, and I know of nothing she could have done better.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is discussed during your consultation. Seeing the space and all it requires is important in order to give accurate pricing to any Client. But for the Client, having a budget is most important and should be something you are aware of before you seek any designer.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A quick phone call to discuss your project briefly is definitely beneficial. Second. we schedule your initial consultation in the space that needs my services. This is the time to ask all the questions you need so that we can move forward in the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is a must! Codes change, trends change, and applications change as the world evolves....must always keep up with the times!
