WOW! Outstanding work! Doug was on time, professional and the work was perfect. He installed new hardware on our new kitchen cabinets and they look great! He hung a large mirror over the fireplace, and did numerous other jobs in our new home. PLUS..he was great around our 3 dogs. I would trust him to do any job and will be hiring him again in the future.

Josh is Amazing. He arrived on time. Brought all tools and items to protect the house while working. He put together a very large dining room table and six chairs. he even took time to balance all chairs and help center the table in the dining room. He does not just put things together he helps with the entire project. He broke down all boxes and trash and loaded in his car. His entire car was filled with all of the boxes and trash. Not expected from a furniture assembler. If you want the lowest price, Great customer service and pride in workmanship Josh is the guy for the job.

There were two workers. I have to give major props to Jaime! He was professional, fast, he knew exactly what was going on, and did everything to make my move smooth. If not for him, I would have pulled my hair out. Jaime packed up my bathroom, bedroom, clothes closet, hallway closet, and hallway in the amount of time it took the other worker (main person?) to pack up the kitchen. One. plate. at. a. time.... :-/ I'll let you read between those lines. Thing is, if they had finished sooner, I would have tipped even higher! Loading and unloading was fine, but again, this is where Jaime shined over the second worker. I was very clear about where I wanted most items, but Jaime went out of his way to set up my bed so I could be comfortable on my first night in my new place. The other worker kept acting confused about a lot of things: "That bookshelf isn't going to make it up those stairs", "where do you want that box again?" "what room are you talking about????" Then he made a comment that moving my electric piano would cost extra even though it wasn't on the initial quote--even though I included it on the things I needed moved. The comment came out of nowhere halfway into the move. I took a lot of time to make this review just to make sure I was calm, but even a month later, it all still applies. The main worker made a couple of comments that don't apply to the move that still left a bad taste in my mouth, so just for next time: Don't worry about hourly rates, just get the move going; your customers will appreciate it. If they don't compensate you then, they will in either the reviews or word of mouth...ie, more business.

Had Terry re-grout some tile in my home and he did a fantastic job. Then found out that he does pretty much everything else too so he fixed the fence and helped out with some other stuff while he was there and did a great job on all of it. Will definitely want to hire him out again.

Ardis went above and beyond as my project to replace a door and match to my others ended up being much more involved than I thought it would be with the original quote. He met me at Lowe's and helped me pick out a door and all the materials needed to stain it. He followed me to my house and proceeded to prep and stain and make the hole for the knob etc. I am so impressed I already have him lined up for some other projects including working on my pool equipment. I would also like to add how dog friendly and dog savvy he is - my 3 dogs loved him! After my dogs barked when he rang the door bell he suggested he call me instead whenever he needed to come inside.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to restore a pool table?

Keeping your pool table in prime condition both protects your investment and makes it more fun to play. If your billiards table has been damaged by age or player misuse, experienced pool table repair pros are ready to help. The average national cost to hire a pool table specialist is $330-$400, but pricing can vary depending on how much restoration work needs to be done and the type and cost of materials you need. Depending on the type of pool table you want, the cost to buy one new can range from $1,000 to $5,000 and up, so investing in upkeep every few years makes good financial sense. Common pool table repairs include refelting the table, replacing cushions and cushion rubber that is has deteriorated or been damaged, installing new pockets or replacing damaged pockets, and fixing chips or smoothing uneven slate. You can also have wood pool tables refinished to restore them to their former luster, which may start around $600 and go up, depending on size, wood type and necessary repairs. Pool table repair pros can level an uneven table, repair broken leg mounts and address other foundational issues. Pool table repair pros can also fix coin-operated parts for commercial tables.

How much does it cost to replace pool table felt?

Owning a pool table, whether for pleasure or business, means investing in upkeep. Keeping the felt in good condition is important to ensure not only appearance but a smooth game. The national average cost to hire a pool table repair professional ranges from $330 to $400. A quality pool table is a major investment, so you want to hire a pro who is experienced and comes with glowing references. Refelting a pool table is a specialized skill calling for technical tools, competence with slate smoothing and repair, and the ability to provide a precision application of the felt that won’t hinder play.

When well cared for, pool table felt can last up to a decade; pros recommend replacing your pool table felt every three years or so, more often if you play heavily. Refelting and pool table repairs can cost more for antique and custom pool tables. Commercial pool table owners are wise to have multiple pool tables repaired at one time, as they can often get discounts for volume work.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
