I hired Crest to clear out a 500+ sqft section of my yard for garden and flower beds. This included removing several small trees and shrubs, removing stumps, digging out roots and removing sod to prep the area for new beds. The owner was professional, friendly and very responsive, and the crew was always on time and worked quickly and efficiently over two days. I was very pleased with Crest and will not hesitate to hire them again for my next project.

Robert and Sam did a wonderful job pruning my two oak trees, many crepe myrtle, trimmed all the bushes, and cut my lawn. In my opinion, what make Hawk's Tree and Lawn Service special is the way Robert and Sam do their work. They take their time to do good work, he take care of the yard as if it was his own yard, Robert would step back and use his aesthetic sensibility to see what branches of tree that need to be trim, not just finish the job and move to the next one. They did such good work, that when they were done with my yard, two of mine neighbor asked Robert to trim their trees the next day. I will definitely call Hawk's Tree and Lawn Service again to help me with future job. It is very nice to see individual who took pride in their work, and did it with such integrity!

I had a small lawn but a lot of leaves that needed to be picked up, as well as bushes trimmed. This company did amazing work. They kept working a second day because they wanted it to be right even though it was taking longer than they expected. And they didn't change their price even though it was taking them more time then they thought. Even after talking with them, they said it needs to be done right. I would recommend this company to anyone. AND, their prices are the most reasonable out of 7 different companies I contacted. Unlike some other companies that might just cut lawn and trim plants, they seemed real knowledgeable about the plants and which ones needed to be cut all the way down and which ones just trimmed. Thank you so much Bell Lawn & Garden.

I am beyond satisfied with the outcome of my landscaping project. Marcello went way above expectations to produce quality work in a timely manner. His professionalism and responsiveness is admirable. Marcello kept me informed of details and asked questions as he walked me through process to ensure my expectations were exceeded. Marcello even fixed a few sprinkler heads at no cost and corrected some of the landscaping errors of my pool company! I would definitely hire Waterfalls Landcare again and recommend them for any of your landscaping needs.

Jeff is an outstanding and knowledge gardener who is anxious to educate and help his clients. He is very good at follow up and even make house calls to see how the plants are doing. He transformed our summer garden into a fall garden with annuals and it will look great until April. His creativity was welcomed and we have a unique pattern of flowers. He is excellent at checking for soil, water and sun elements to determine which plants go where. He is a quiet worker, cleans up and purchases the plants. We are very pleased with his efforts to make our yard look special. He is also very well informed about perennials and recommends those to serve as a backdrop to the annual color. He keeps the client preferences and their budget in mind. We would not hesitate to recommend Jeff Payne to others.

BALDI GARDENS INSTALLED AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM AT MY HOME. THE CREW WAS PROFESSIONAL AND FAST. I HAVE SINCE HAD TWO PROBLEMS COME UP. ONE, CARS WERE DRIVING OVER MY LAWN , I LIVE IN THE CURVE AREA OF A CUL DE SAC. THE CARS BROKE AN IRRIGATION PIPE UNDER THE GRASS. BALDI GARDENS CAME RIGHT OVER AND DID THE REPAIR. THEY SUGGESTED I PUT A BIG BOULDER IN THAT AREA TO DETER THE CARS. THAT WORKED GREAT. MONTHS LATER MY LAWN CARE COMPANY WEED EATED BURIED WIRES TO THE SYSTEM. BALDI GARDENS CAME RIGHT OUT AND FIXED THAT. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY AND REALLY TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE CUSTOMER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. MARGARET BERINTI

The back flowerbeds and new grass look great and they left the job with it looking ready to used for a barbecue Sunday evening... I would recommend them, and will be using David to do the weekly yard / garden work on my house.. Thanks guys, Dave

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
