Excellent experience with Mrs. Schneider! I would recommend her counseling services.May 31, 2018Verified
When I called her yesterday I told her that I was pretty sure I wanted a divorce. She just left our house after spending two hours with me and my husband. My husband didn't want to meet with her but I told him I was leaving if he didn't. Not only did he like her, but he wanted her to stay longer because she was helping us so much! We made another appt for next week and I feel so much better.Jun 28, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $75 per hour for coaching services. I do not accept insurance because I am a coach and not a therapist or counselor. I do accept credit cards, cash, or check and collect the payment after we complete each session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Because I am a coach and not a counselor, my sessions are run very differently than people might think. I believe that most counselors give you an hour for an appointment and by the time that hour is finished, you've only just gotten started diving into the problem. I block off at least 2-3 hours of my time so I can stay with couples as long as they need during the first session. It's been my experience that frustrations, hurt and conflicts have been building up for a long time and by the time they see me for the first time, they really need a lot of time to tell me their story. I immediately start to see ways in which I can coach them to change their relationship, but I don't think you can get a lot accomplished with only a one hour session. I will guide the new client through the process by asking questions, creating an atmosphere where we can have deep discussion while making them feel safe to share their feelings with me and move quickly into coaching them by giving them tools and techniques to improve their communications and conflict resolution skills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a certified Stephen Minister and a Leader of 20 other Stephen Ministers, I teach continuing education each month. I teach active listening skills, boundary skills, relationships skills and how to deal with people who are in a life crisis. Because I am the continuing education leader, I must continually read and learn and write the content of the course. I'm always reading and taking courses to hone my skills as a coach. I want to be clear that I am NOT a doctor, psychiatrist, therapist or a counselor. Coaching is very different and is not a substitute for counseling, therapy or mental health evaluation.
