We have 3 young kids all going to Mr. Witebsky for piano lessons. He has been teaching them for a few years and we are very happy with their lessons. Mr. Witebsky is both a gifted pianist himself and a patient, helpful instructor. We are happy to recommend him.

We have had John teaching our son Blake for two years now. Blake began playing the classical guitar when he turned 7 years old. He has since moved on to the electric guitar and really enjoys playing Rock and Roll. What is important to me is the fact that he didn't just learn to play by ear or by tabs. He learned to read music. He could move to the keyboard and play if he wanted, but his sister began playing this year at the age of six and has now graduated to playing her favorite song "Let It Go". John is very patient with the children and very thorough with his teaching. If you are looking for someone to work with your kids to teach them music, he is a very good choice. He shows up on time and gives the kids just the right amount of work for their attention span. His enjoyment of music is very apparent and it shows every time he works with the kids.

Amir was absolutely wonderful! He showed up early and stayed late. He was very professional and played extremely well. I know for a fact the guests loved him and his ability to walk around and sing during cocktail hour. He is definitely someone I am going to recommend to brides in the future!

We are so glad we found Laura Jorgensen for voice lessons. We have three elementary school children all working towards auditions for an elite choir. She has worked with each of them individually as well as all together. Her focus on proper vocal mechanics and training in addition to knowledge regarding appropriate developmental exercises speaks to her professionalism and formal education. Our kids love the variety of music she can teach from classic standards, to their favorite movie songs, to international styles. We have been exceedingly pleased with our investment into lessons from Ms. Jorgensen.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Nick recently, and he is great! Very patient and explains things in a way I can understand. Doesn't jump down your throat the way some instructors do. Know he also teaches voice and keyboard lessons, and believe they'd be a good bet too. I would definitely recommend him!!

Ms. Maria Lyapkova is not only an incredibly gifted pianist, but she is also a brilliant and inspiring instructor, proficient in teaching solo, chamber, and ensemble literature (for piano). Over the course of my two years in her piano ensemble class at the University of South Florida, I learned and progressed so much in terms of technique, musical sense and sensitivity, interpretation, practicing efficiently, and the art of performing, to name only a few. During lessons and ensemble coaching sessions, Ms. Maria is extremely patient, kind, understanding. She is highly committed to teaching, able to work with students of any proficiency level, and always earnestly encouraging students to improve to the best they can. I will always remember the amazing lessons I had learning Arensky’s Suite No. 2, Op. 23 (“Silhouettes”) under her instruction!

Awesome from the start. I decided in my 50s that it was time to finally learn guitar. I took some lessons from another instructor, but we just didn’t jive. Tried Zach and my search is over. I learned more in the first lesson than a half dozen from the other guy. Zach’s best qualities are that he is patient and he listens to you. Great combination for a beginner. He already has me playing several chords and simple songs after two lessons. His approach to practice keeps me motivated. My frustration level decreased dramatically and I’m finally excited about learning again. Save yourself some time and give Zach a call!

I would like to send this letter in support of Tom Lopez and his music lessons through the Universal City Music Studio. My son Jacob Bissell has been a student of Tom's since his days in the band at Kitty Hawk Middle School. At that time, Thomas was teaching Jacob drum techniques to supplement the lessons at Kitty Hawk Middle School. Jacob ended up his Middle School tenure as an honored/awarded musician with a great foundation in music. Jacob moved on to Judson High School, and auditioned for the marching band. He won a spot on the Judson Drum Line as a bass player. He held this position for two years, even though he could have moved to "snare position" his second year, but stayed on bass to help the Director. Around this time, Jacob was starting guitar lessons with Mr. Lopez. After two years with the Varsity Judson High School Band, Drum Line, Jacob decided to take a break from the marching band. At this time, it was found that Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA) needed a percussionist. An audition was arrainged with YOSA, and Jacob was awarded a percussion seat with the Philharmonic Orchestra (YOSA's number one performing orchestra). He held this position with YOSA during his Junior and Senior years at Judson High School. His Senior year of high school, Jacob had to be in the music program to be eligible for YOSA, so he talked to the orchestra director at Judson HS. The Director needed a bass for the orchestra, so Jacob accepted the position. He started the semester in the Beginner Orchestra. With his excellent musicianship, he learned the instrument and was moved to the Honors Orchestra. He did receive honors for this position. All this time, Jacob had continued taking music lessons and having recitals with Thomas Lopez. Jacob had continuisly been a student of Tom's since middle school at Kitty Hawk. Now it was time to think of college. Jacob had thought that "Music Thearpy" was an area of study he wanted to pursue. Looking at the information from Texas colleges, only two in the state offered music therapy. One was in Houston, and the other was the University of the Incarnate Word, in San Antonio, Texas. After applying, and going through Music School auditions with the Director at Incarnate Word, he was awarded a Music School scholarship and an academic scholarship. With the substantial scholarship money, he accepted the spot on the Incarnate Word music school roster. I would like to congratulate Thomas Lopez for instilling in his student Jacob, the musicianship needed to advance to the level he has. He is active in the Incarnate Word Chorale, so he is learning about another instrument- his voice. Jacob is active in two bands- Disposable and 16 Psyche. As well as writing music, singing (fronting Disposable), he is currently teaching himself piano. I want to add links below to several of Jacob's performances. If the links get lost, you may find performances on YouTube by searching the names of the groups, and looking for "YOSA presents Carmina Burrana," where you'll see Jacob's senior slide on the screen behind the orchestra, at the beginning credits. While in YOSA, Jacob was with the first group to perform in the new Tobin Center, appearing twice about a month before Paul McCartney played the venue. Jacob has performed with nationally known artists while in the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, and went on tour to Canada with the organization. Thanks again Thomas, for bringing out the best in your music students.

I can't think of anything that could have made my daughter's experience better! A high school actress, she got bit by the musical theatre bug but had no training and little confidence in her voice. There is no other word but "uncanny" for Chantel's ability to connect with an individual student, intuit her strengths and unique musical tastes and objectives, and yet also inspire her to stretch and move outside her comfort zone. My daughter also took guitar lessons with Chantel's husband Derek and I would say exactly the same thing about his teaching -- plus he showed such a kind and generous nature whenever my daughter struggled to balance school, work, acting, etc., and wasn't so diligent with her practicing! Both Chantel and Derek really got this - and respected it - always tailoring their lessons to my daughter's needs and capacities at the time. I believe the training you'll receive from Chantel is as rigorous as you'll find anywhere in Austin -- and my guess is there aren't many places where you'll walk out feeling so good about the experience. Chantel and Derek's home studio is warm and intimate -- the *perfect* place to deepen your love of music and performance.

Eugene’s Music Studio is one of the most professional & kind music studios we had the honor to work with. My son is so excited and cannot wait for his piano lessons. The teacher was able to keep him busy and involved throughout the entire session (not an easy task) and she always comes up with new ways for him to stay involved. We are very happy that we found Eugene's Music Studio. Eugene was very attuned and helped us find the best fit for our child and we look forward to seeing the progress he will make with time.
