FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
CertaPro employs a pricing system. We take detailed measurements and inspect the condition of your home or business, then apply our metrics to determine the amount of paint, primer and other materials will be needed, as well as labor hours required to complete your project as you want. (We prefer to supply the paint, as we can almost always buy it much more cheaply than you can due to our buying power.) Because we are so thorough, we typically cannot provide an estimate over the phone or via email… we need to visit your location to develop a proposal with costs that you will have confidence we can stand behind. And we never play the game of giving you a lower cost just to get the job, and then raising the price once we start. We take various forms of payment (credit card, check) and we have a 12-month no interest financing option. But we prefer payment by check, and we give a 5% discount for payment with check.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to start by getting a basic understanding of the work before we come visit you. That tells us approximately how much time we’ll need to allow in order to provide you with a detailed and accurate estimate of the work. Then, we schedule an on-site visit with you to do the estimate as described above. We provide a detailed written estimate so you know exactly what is included. When you select us for the work, we confirm that you are on our schedule, and provide both email updates and phone calls to keep you informed on the date we’ll be starting. We also work with you to make sure your colors are confirmed in advance, and will even conduct a color consultation with an interior designer on larger projects, if you need that help. You will know a few days in advance who your Job Site Supervisor will be, and the starting time is confirmed with you the day before we start. Finally, you get daily updates on the progress of your project so that you know how much longer it’s going to take. Communication with you is very important to us.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have formal training in paint products and processes and best practices on an ongoing basis. Our office and sales team have extensive training in their roles when they are hired, and there is ongoing training both through our proprietary online CertaPro University, and periodic live training. Our painting Job Site Supervisors receive training in new products and new tools once or twice each year so that they are up-to-date in their product knowledge.
