I reached out to Steve to do a bathroom and kitchen remodel for an interior design client. Steve was punctual, honest, and gave her a fair price. His work ethic is outstanding and he does not cut corners. His work is beautiful. I have used him on another client project so far, and will continue to use him in the future.

I believe in pushing the envelope and bringing true realism to 3D models. While the so called "valley syndrome" may cause a few to have issues with seeing 3D models look truly real, I believe the quality is a needed aspect in today's world.

I consider myself a "Design Chameleon". I can adapt easily to my client's needs. You need an apparel advertisement with a circa 1969 Talbot's feel, I can do it. Need to add flair to a lawnmower manual, I can do it. Even though it's been done to death, a western themed invite for your kid's corral party, I'm your man!

My whimsical storybook-style art is collected worldwide by people who never stopped believing in fairies, who leave cookies out for their imaginary friends, and who love a good adventure. You can find my work in children's hospitals across the United States, adding fun to movie and television show sets, and in select galleries and shops. My current projects include painting cute and cuddly designs for textile companies and working on several picture book projects. If you are looking for something fun to decorate your nursery, child's room, or playroom, you've come to the right place!

About

I provide a site where greeting cards are designed when you order them. My greeting cards are hand crafted and personalized just for you. You won't find any two greeting cards alike - each one is it's own unique creation. I have always been interested in poetry and writing children's stories. I started making my own greeting cards about 12 years ago. The ideas have grown with the years and I still think of new ways of making greeting cards. I have had people tell me that they still have the greeting cards I've made several years ago, and some have said that they're the ones that are "keepers". This just makes me want to try harder, but that's no problem, because I absolutely love making greeting cards. I started writing children's stories when my children were small and I would read to them. They were mostly series of stories about the same characters with new ones added as the stories progressed. I loved it. As my children married and had children of their own, I began expanding the stories for them. I started making my grandchildren story greeting cards for their birthdays, and now I make them for great nieces and nephews and friends' children or grandchildren. It's a challenge to come up with short stories for the greeting cards, but when I see that it pleases the children to see their own names in the stories, it's worth the extra effort. Let me be clear. Each card is personalized by information we receive from you and created as closely as we can to what you're needing, including the poem. We can add names to the cards or poems or story cards. We're not satisfied until you are! Sincerely, Lavina

I can paint or draw anything you want. All I would need is a picture of what you want. I can paint landscapes, portraits, anything. It depends on the size of canvas of how much it will be. I do need a down payment. If the painting is $100, then I would need $20. Just let me know how big of a drawing or painting you want. If you would like to see some samples, I have them on my Facebook. Just look up Amelia Lumpkin and you'll find it in there. I love to paint and draw. Thanks for looking.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

What do interior designers do?

Interior designers do much more than pick complementary paint colors and choose matching furniture — although those tasks are important parts of the job. Unlike decorators, interior designers usually have an associate of science degree or certificate of achievement in interior design from an accredited program. They’re trained in drafting, lighting and computer aided design (CAD), and are experts in room-specific design and residential space planning. Interior designers use these skills to plan and design safe, highly functional and beautiful interior spaces, from kitchens and bathrooms to family rooms and bedrooms. They determine space requirements, work within building codes and inspection regulations, and meet accessibility standards. An interior designer’s day-to-day job includes creative and technical tasks, both of which often require great communication skills:

  • Creating model rooms and visuals using design software.
  • Researching different textiles, materials, finishes, lighting and furniture.
  • Hiring suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Estimating costs and making bids on potential jobs.

How do you find a good interior designer?

For many homeowners, the difference between a good interior designer and a bad one is simply a matter of taste — but all good designers have similar skill sets. Interior designers usually have a degree or certificate in interior design, with training in design principles and lighting, drafting, and computer aided design (CAD) software. Good interior designers have strong color balancing skills and understand how different colors influence spatial perception and moods. They know the building and electrical codes in the areas where they practice, and they make sure that any contractors they hire also work to those codes. They are knowledgeable about different upholstery fabrics and draperies, stay ahead of residential design trends, and maintain their own individual creativity. Also, good interior designers have excellent space designing skills, so they can arrange a space efficiently and with ideal traffic flow. Ultimately, hiring a good interior designer means pinpointing one whose signature style is complementary to your personal style — so checking out many designers’ portfolios is a must — and whose communication methods match yours.

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

  • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
  • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
  • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour
