Jane made our homebuying experience in Plano a breeze. She set up appointments, was always on time, helped with our offer, and, of course, the contract. She followed up with the seller as necessary to be sure all inspection points were cleared. Her detailed analysis of the market price was over the top. The house was not yet on the market, and she strongly suggested we offer the asking price because, as she said, "if it goes to an open house, the offers will be way over the asking price." It was great advice. It was a pleasure working with her. Jim and AnnMay 19, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I bill for my time and my direct software costs (per return/eFile charges). For smaller engagements, I can establish a fixed fee after I understand the scope of the project. For larger and ongoing/recurring engagements, a fixed fee arrangement probably won't be practical, as the time involved may not be easy to project in advance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I prefer to meet in person or have a phone conversation to get to know each other. Our first hour of introductory meeting, by phone or in person, is "off the clock". After I have a good understanding of your tax and accounting needs, I will follow-up with a written request for documents needed for me to proceed with the engagement. There will be an engagement letter or email acknowledgement, the formality of which may vary based upon the complexity of the engagement. Nobody likes surprises when it comes to billing, so I will give you a fee estimate after I have an understanding of the scope of the services needed. I bill for my time and software costs, but I'm pretty relaxed about taking a quick phone call or email that doesn't require research or risk on my part to give advice. In other-words, don't be afraid to contact me when you need me. I can't work for free, but I won't nickel and dime you for keeping the lines of communication open. Communication is key to a powerful business relationship.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Yes, 40 hours per year as required by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Because I do contract work for local firms in addition to my own client base, I am exposed to many different situations and kept up-to-date with the regulations and technology every year. I also get more than the required continuing education to maintain my Realtor- Sales license. Since that is the newer of my two professions, I focus intently on the changing regulations.
