I had the pleasure of learning music theory and Piano fundamentals from Sophia and I could not have chosen a better person. She helped me learn to read music from scratch, and simplified the learning experience with great techniques, which definitely helped me pick up music fast. II would 100% recommend Sophia to anyone who's looking to improve or begin their piano lessons. Also, Sophia's delightful humor and flexibility in offering make-up classes are bonus. Sophia, I wish you all the very best and thank you for your efforts in helping me begin my journey ! You're the best! Vivek

Mike has been amazing! He's acquired great knowledge over the years and loves to share it with his students. I am currently learning music theory and he's made it fun and simple. In just a short month, I've learned about R, 3rd, and 5th, major/minor chords, and how to discover the key of a music piece just by listening to it. Again I say, this guy is truly amazing! I'm happy to have used thumbtack as a resource to find him. I feel his passion for music correlates with his teaching methods. Thanks for all you do Mike!

Our son had been taking piano lessons for 2 years prior to taking lessons with Phil. He has learned more in this past year than in the two previous years combined. Our son enjoys Phil's sense of humor and teaching style. We are looking forward to another great year! Thank you Phil

My son, Eric has been taking lessons from Mariah for the last two years. He had previous classical piano lessons, but wanted to learn Jazz piano. In just a few lessons she taught him enough to pass an audition for Jazz piano at Booker T Washington HS for the Performing Arts. He is presently taking vocal lessons and has taught him ways to increase his vocal range as in how to access the high register of his chest range without straining. I would highly recommend her to someone that is looking for an excellent vocal coach.

My brother and I have been taking piano lessons with Dina for the last 9 years. We have both become musically certified. I have toured the States and China performing because of her and it has been an incredible source of income for me. You will laugh and have a blast with Dina and she will train you at the same time. I went to another teacher before and feel extremely lucky to have found Dina. We stayed with piano because of the way she teaches. She also has many forms of methods which quickly improves a students performing abilities. I'd give this lady 100% She is truly one of a kind.

I've been taking lessons at Promethean Studios for over a year. Having played the piano for several years during my childhood, I'd been away from it for close to 15 years, prior to resuming lessons late in 2011. I can say that I am thoroughly pleased with my experience thus far. My instructor (and studio owner) Mark Black, is very knowledgable and competent, and a highly-skilled instructor. My knowledge of music theory has grown exponentially and my playing abilities have strengthened. Mr. Black's methods allow for a student to learn and implement what has been learn, all while playing music the student enjoys--be it classical, country, rock, jazz, or any other genre. I would highly recommend Promethean Studios to anyone.

Piano with BJ has been a great gift to my family. Not only has BJ taught my girls a love of music, but she has taught them the language of music. Through theory instruction, playing time at the piano, and encouragement to press on through the “tough” times of learning the piano, my girls have developed a skill and love of playing that I believe they will use for the rest of their lives. BJ has also gone the extra mile in helping my oldest daughter, who is interested in music composition, to pursue that dream.

We hired Anthony to teach our 11 yr old daughter how to play the guitar. This is her first instrument. Anthony was a pure delight to work with, was always on time and sometimes even stayed a little over to make sure the lesson(s) were taught. He even helped us find a GOOD guitar for our daughter. Our daughter looked forward to each lesson with Anthony. He even broadened his lessons to include vocal coaching as well. I would highly recommend Anthony for anyone needing a music or vocal coach.

About

Hi, my name is Caleb and I'm a vocal performance graduate from Delta State University and a vocal performance graduate student pursuing my master's at University of North Texas. During my years of study I have taught a wide variety of skill levels including opera, musical theatre, pop, folk, rock, and sacred —which has led me to be a versatile singer/teacher while still providing sufficient instruction for each individual student. Also, during my years study I have worked with great professionals such as Kumiko Shimizu, Elvia Puccinelli, Susan Youens, Roy Howat, Tom Cipullo, Ryland Angel, Liza Stepanova, and I currently study under the infamous Richard Croft. Congratulations on taking an interest to further your musicianship. The hourly rate IS negotiable, but will include instruction in reading music, singing with proper technique, aural skills for intonation improvement, and the list goes on and on. I'm a versatile teacher with much experience in performing and teaching almost every genre of music. This will allow you to run the show as far as which direction you want to pursue as a performer. I'm available to drive to you, but the cost of the lesson will go up if this is the case. However, taking voice lessons will ONLY improve your sound as a singer, and if we agree to work together, I'm positive you'll notice results in no time. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

i took lessons from kenneth for several years, from middle school until i graduated from high school. i enjoyed and always looked forward to my lesson each week. he was always encouraging and exposed me to new music and musical ideas/techniques and was, in effect, my mentor for those years. i greatly enjoyed learning from him during those years and have always recommended him to friends and anyone who's inquired about suggestions on music lessons.
