Although I have received only one violin lesson thus far, I am very pleased with this company. Sherri does a great job!!
Barbara taught my son violin for several years. When I mentioned to her I wanted to take mandolin lessons, she offered to take on the job. It's been a year now and I love that I'm not only learning to play but also the theory behind the music.
My daughter Mary is fifteen years old, she has played the violin for nine years. Ms. Aleksi has been her teacher for the past three years. Mary has improved immensely since she started working with Ms. Aleksi. Her improvement is evident in her technique, tone and overall musicianship. Since Mary has been working with Ms. Aleksi she has made The National Honors Junior Orchestra, All Region, Area and she made a gold at State UIL Solo contest. Mary is also in the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra. Ms. Aleksi works with Mary on all her music and auditions. Mary is so blessed to have Ms. Aleksi as her violin teacher.
David is an awesome teacher. I am happy that I hired him.
Things went well during first two lessons, I feel I am getting the attention I need. At this stage of my learning I am satisfied and look forward to the next lessons. The instructor is knowledgeable and I understand where we are going. I am pleased to know I can use the school's piano for extra practice during off schedule hours.
We looked into Mr. Padgett because my daughter needed a teacher that taught according to the ABRSM. Mr. Padgett offered a "free lesson" to get a fill of her ability and we were instantly hooked. He pointed out that her viola was not an actual viola but a violin strung as a viola, that her strings needed to be changed, and that while she could play almost any piece given to her she lacked basic foundation skills. I couldn't believe it. Her previous private teacher did not catch any of that during the year and a half they worked together. It has been trying some days getting my daughter to go back to basics and learn what she should have previously learned but Mr. Padgett is great at drawing her in and keeping her focused. He has even rebuked me for putting too much pressure on her or being demanding when it came to practice. He was very polite about it and even took the time to explain to me why. He has mastered multi tasking when it comes to focusing on the student in practice while also keeping the parent involved and in the loop. He has no shame in advising you where your child stands. Her playing has gotten exceptionally better and she's even attempting to memorize the music now. The recitals Mr. Padgett gives are helping her with her confidence in playing in front of others and also showing her the importance of practice. My daughter is starting her second instrument with Mr. Padgett and she very excited. She never gets really excited about going to practice but she has changed slowly over this past month. It does't hurt that Mr. Padgett often rewards her with a little treat afterwards! I would definitely recommend Mr. Padgett to other string parents.
I've taken piano lessons with Bob for seven years now, and it has been an excellent experience. He tailors the lessons and the training approach to the individual, rather than applying a "one size fits all" approach. He has been extremely accommodating of my schedule, and rapidly responds to questions I have regarding material we've covered. I highly recommend him.
