FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My billing rate is currently $150/hour for tax preparation services. My bookkeeping rate is currently $130/hour. I typically do not charge for the initial "meet and greet" appointment or conversation. Small(er) individual tax returns (Form 1040) typically take just a couple hours, so you would be looking at an approximate range of $250-$500 for a federal return. I also usually provide a discount to first year clients, to help cover for the additional time new clients require. Each tax return and client situation is different, so it is hard to provide a blanket rate for a client before knowing their full story.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do my best to answer all of the new client's questions, and explain things thoroughly. I have been accused of being too detailed at times, but I do my best to make sure my clients are "in the know" - as much as they want to be anyway. =)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been preparing books since 2007, and tax returns since 2011. I quickly worked my way up the ladder while working at various Houston CPA firms. I gained my Associates degree from HCC in 2010, Bachelor's in Accounting in 2013, and my CPA license in 2016. I always worked full-time while attending classes full- or part-time. This approach caused me to be in school longer, but it also helped me gain invaluable hands-on experience, which helped me advance quickly in each role I was given at work.
