Moses Ribeiro did a $10,000 remodeling project for me that went from bad to worse. It has now been almost three months since this project and only now am I calm enough to write a review after the nightmare he put us through, a nightmare that is still continuing. My husband and I were dissatisfied from the start with his shady negotiation practices and the way he could not seem to figure out how to itemize an invoice. We went with him because he gave us the lowest rate and we now know why. Moses was rarely present and had a couple guys doing the work for him who could not speak English. When he was supposed to meet with us he was always extremely late. During his work for us, one of Moses' employees damaged our brand new stove and we were told by Moses that we had no proof. No proof was needed, the evidence was very clear. When we explained this Moses said that this was between us and the employee Moses hired. I could elaborate on the numerous jobs that were done incorrectly by Moses and his crew as small as the incorrect tile or non-matching tile being used to as significant as electrical codes not being followed. But, honestly, all of these things could have been overlooked if not for the biggest issue of all! Moses, who is not a licensed plumber and does not have a licesned plumber who works for him (we didn't know this at the time) installed plumbing for us in a new bathroom we had added. We've had ten different plumbers some look at his work, after the toilet backed up and could not be unclogged with a plunger or even a toilet snake. Each time we got a shocked reaction. The wrong pipes were installed, they were installed inproperly and in the incorrect location. Short cuts were taken every step of the way. This has been a theme throughout all of Moses' work. We now have to come up with $5000 to repair the plumbing mess that Moses created. We hired an attorney and sent a demand letter to Moses for the cost of the plumbing repairs. He ignored two letters and multiple phone calls. Our attorney advised us not to move forward because, even though it is an open and shut case, people like Moses won't pay anyway and there is not much we can do. We have learned that you truly get what you pay for.
