Please E-mail me to schedule your session <<< The Canine Consultant has more than a decade of experience working with a vast array of dogs on different platforms. Specializing in basic obedience, therapy dogs, and service dog training, we hold our canines to the highest level of perfection. Just like humans, no two dogs are alike, therefore, you can not train every dog the same way. Understanding the basics of canine psychology is ground zero for training. Learning to read your dog's body language is a must in order to properly adjust the training methods to best fit the dog's needs. You can see videos of training on facebook if you search for OperationSavingJake and/or JCCanineConsultant. Helping humans to properly communicate with their dogs is very important in order to establish a strong, respectful, bond between the two species. I thoroughly enjoy helping to educating owners on their dogs' needs and explaining why their dog acts the way it does. More than often an owner doesn't realize that their best buddy is under exercised, stressed out, depressed, and/or lacking self confidence, etc., which is creating behavioral issues the owner doesn't know how to deal with. Creating a healthy home environment where a dog can be relaxed, happy, and healthy is my goal. I want owners to be able to confidently take their canine companions out in public and know that their dog is going to be well behaved and reliable.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first meet and greet, is typically about 2 hour long. I evaluate the dog and discuss what the owner's goals are with their pet. From there we get into the 101s of dog psychology; how they communicate and more effective ways the owner can communicate with their dog. We set forth a plan, discuss what boundaries, limits, and rules need to be set for the dog, and I start to introduce different tacts and techniques that will help to resolve some of the issues the owner is having.
