Celine was simply amazing! She cheerfully and expertly painted over a dozen 3-year olds for my daughter's birthday party at school and the teachers loved her so much that they want to hire her for their own parties. Thank you so much!

Tami's patience with all ages and extreme attention to detail is outstanding! I think the best compliment for a face painter is when the client "never wants to wash their face again!" I have heard MANY people say this about her creations. Oooh, she does Henna Tattoos too!!!

Z is a thorough professional. She entertained kids with her face paintings, kids loved her so much they did not leave her even after the event. She patiently did face painting to all the kids even when it went over the agreed upon time. I thank Z for making my event successful.

We offer luxury tattooing in the heart of Austin Texas, two minutes from downtown. We are an award-winning and true custom tatttoo studio, specializing in all artistic styles. We take pride in our vibrant color tattooing and we are known and awarded for our portraits and realistic black and grey.

I'm a professional tattoo artist with eleven years of (in-studio) experience. I specialize in bright, bold colors and all custom work. I really like doing Japanese, traditional, and new skool. All of my work is by appointment only, and if you would like a custom design drawn, you will need to book in advance.

An appointment with a client involves discussing color, size and placement of a tattoo, looking at reference materials which the client brings for the artwork, as well as collecting a deposit before beginning to draw the tattoo design. The tattoo artist and client discuss details and options for the design, to inhibit the tattoo artist from drawing a design which isn't within the realm of the client's vision.

We have four Texas locations for affordable, safe, effective tatoo removal: Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. MEDermis Laser Clinic has state-of-the-art equipment and offers tattoo removal by appointment.

We offer quality tattoos at a great price. We specialize in cover-ups and reworks. We do custom work as well. Our artists have been tattooing for seven plus years, and our piercer on staff has five years experience. We offer an extremely family based atmosphere because we want you to feel at home, and we are kid-friendly. So, come by and check us out. Hit us up on Facebook as well.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How long does a henna tattoo stay on?

Typically a henna tattoo stays on anywhere from one to three weeks. Henna artists work with henna paste, also called mehndi, which dyes the skin for a short period of time. An important part of Indian culture, the use of henna has become increasingly popular in the United States, with henna artists providing henna tattoos for weddings, as event entertainment and for other special events. Henna artists typically apply their designs to the palms and backs of the hands, the wrists, up to the elbows, and from the feet up to the knees. To preserve the rich color of your henna tattoo and help it set, avoid water as much as possible within the first 24 hours of application. The color will be richest during the first week. Brides may want to have their henna tattoos applied one or two days before the wedding for optimal results.

What is the meaning behind henna tattoos?

Henna tattoos, as they are called in the United States, have a long tradition in Indian, African and Middle Eastern cultures. For centuries, the leaves of dried henna plants have been ground into a fine paste to be used as a temporary and nontoxic skin dye. This form of body decoration has been used in celebrations, weddings and ceremonial rites of passage in many cultures. Often in Hindu weddings, henna artists decorate the hands and feet of the bride (and at times the groom) with intricate designs. In some Muslim traditions, henna artists paint women with henna designs as they are in their final stages of pregnancy. In the United States, popular culture has adopted this beautiful body art and henna artists provide brides (and sometimes grooms) with temporary henna tattoos. Henna artists are also a popular choice for entertainment at corporate events, birthday parties, bachelorette parties and festivals. Henna artists may charge anywhere from $10 to $300 per hour.

How much does it cost to get a henna tattoo?

Nationally, the average cost to hire a henna artist is between $100 and $180 per hour. Rates will vary by location and the experience of the individual henna artist; it’s possible to find artists who charge less than $50 per hour. Some henna artists charge an hourly rate, especially for corporate events or festivals where they are providing service to multiple people within an hour. They may also charge flat rates for bridal and wedding services or special events. Here are some examples of average cost:

  • Hourly rate: $65-$85 or more per hour. Price is dependent on event size and number of attendees.
  • Starting rate for minimal palm designs: $15 or more.
  • Henna tattoos covering the hands and wrist and bottom of feet up to the ankle: $175.
  • Henna tattoos covering the hands to the mid-arm and feet to above the ankle: $300.
  • Henna tattoos covering the hands to the elbow and the feet to the knee: $450.
