Rudy was excellent! I hired him to do a long list of things on my flip house which was in rough shape... and you could tell he knew a lot about a wide array of things. He knew electrical, carpentry, general fix-it stuff, landscaping things. He worked with a property manager for a good while, so he knows all kinds of stuff. A+

Daniel did a great job on my project. He told me where I was trying to spend money that I didn't need to, he explained why he was doing what he was doing and even took the time to teach me about how the electrical components worked, what to know as a homeowner and how to make some of my own corrections. He detailed the options of what needed to be done, gave his recommendations on a free quote and did not pressure in any way towards one decision or another. He made the trip out to New Braunfels from San Antonio, gave me the quote, went back to work another appointment he had and then he made the drive back out again to complete the project. This was above and beyond. He was affordable, did great work, itemized all his costs, explained to me each detail of the charges, worked less hours than quoted and saved me money. I asked him for multiple business cards because not only will I use him again, but I'm going to provide his card to friends and family.

MR SARIANO AND HIS TEAM REPLACED/ RAISED OUR ROOF FROM FLAT TO STANDARD ROOF AS WELL AS SOME OTHER DUTIES THAT WE ASKED HIM TO DO LATER WHICH INCLUDED SIDING, ELECTRICAL, PAINTING INSTALLING GUTTERS INSTALLING ATTIC ENTRANCE AND MINOR PLUMBING REPAIRS. THE JOB TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE OVER ALL PROJECT AND I KNOW MY FATHER WAS VERY IMPRESSED HE IS A VERY PLEASANT AND EASY TO TALK TO PERSON AND HE MADE EXCELLENT RECOMMENDATIONS WHEN WE ASKED HIM QUESTIONS ABOUT THE JOB. JAVIER WAS ON TIME AND THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS NOTICED BY MY NEIGHBORS. THE ONLY THING THAT COULD HAVE GONE BETTER WAS THE WEATHER IT WAS PRETTY HOT OUT THERE BUT MR SARIANO AND HIS TEAM WORKED THROUTH IT. I WOULD NOT HESITATE IN USING HIM AGAIN FOR FUTHER PROJECTS IN THE FUTURE....AND THERE WILL BE SOME COMING UP.

Everything went well. The work done was very professional and exactly what I wanted done. He installed a ceiling fan where a broken fan had been; He returned again at my request and installed a porch ceiling fan, and security motion detector lights. He ran all the wires through the attic so the resulting work was beautiful and clean. I just had him return today to install a light fixture over the dining room table. He is very knowledgeable about the work he did. He gave me options and suggestions about outlets and things I had not considered. He several times made the trip to Home Depot to pick up supplies to get the job done. He even helped me go online to pick out the best type ceiling fan for the porch. He is extremely polite and stays on the job without wasting time. I believe he is relatively new to working with customers but it was all to my advantage b/c I would rather have some one who just wants to make an honest living versus someone just interested in a quick buck. He is extremely conservative in his pricing. I gave him extra most visits b/c I thought he deserved more $ than he was asking. I had a long list of to-dos electrically and they are all done. He was available within a reasonable time and arrived on time or called me if he was running late. This man is THE ELECTRICIAN to hire. You won't regret it.

Eric was Professional, Fast and Affordable!! I just purchased a home build in 1968, needless to say the electrical was old. The previous owner did their own electrical work that was all messed up. So, I had A LOT of things that needed to be fixed. Eric was able to get everything done in a couple days. I was extremely impressed!

Updated an old backyard patio. The existing original patio had a low ceiling and was not convenient for relaxing with family and friends. This job included adding a new deck, raising the ceiling and adding a gabled roof to match the house. All electric work was done well and the finished patio was painted to match the house. The old patio was completely removed. The new space provides an atmosphere perfect for relaxing or entertaining. As far as what could have been done better, there really is nothing to report as this job was done on schedule and met the intent of the design.

I have hired over 15 professionals on Thumbtack and countless more through other apps. Juan is one of the best. He's punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We recently purchased a home that needed furniture setups and repairs. Juan came over to assemble IKEA furniture, TV mounts, and bedroom sets. He did that extremely well. He also helped us out with a variety small repairs and plan to use him for our drywall, electrical, and small plumbing needs. We plan to use him in the near future for other items as well. We're extremely pleased with his work and you will be too.

My husband and I just recently bought another rental property and needed several repairs on the duplex. We found that we were going to need 4 different people, at 4 different times to make-ready. Fortunately, we found Mitch and he was able to repair everything himself. He worked on some electrical issues, on both bathrooms and repaired both bath tubs. He repaired the baseboards in the kitchen and installed a new dishwasher. He did some work on the roof and backyard as well. Overall, he did an amazing job with everything, and best, we got all our repairs taken care of at one time, instead of 4 different people at 4 different times. I would highly recommend using Mitch for your home repairs. He's professional, accommodating and does an amazimg job!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much is a redwood fence per foot?

A redwood fence is a long-lasting home investment that can add beauty and major curb appeal to your home. Redwood fence installation costs are higher than those for pressure-treated pine or cedar, due to the relative scarcity of the wood. Pricing can vary for redwood fence installation costs based on regional labor rates, current prices of redwood planks, the height and linear feet of the fence, and any custom designs or features. Redwood fences, in addition to being beautiful, are naturally more resistant against bugs and rot than less hardy or dense woods. Redwood fences also generally fare well in wet or humid climates due to their natural oils — which also make them easier to maintain. Materials costs per linear foot for redwood planks can range anywhere from $6 to $20 or more, depending on grade, quality and height.

How much does it cost to put up a chain-link fence?

Chain-link fence is one of the most affordable options for adding safety and value to your home or business. The national average chain-link fence installation cost is $2,750. Chain-link fences are relatively simple for the pros to install; a fence of less than 150 linear feet can often be put up in under one day. A good rule of thumb is to add an additional workday for each additional 100 linear feet of fence to be installed.

Chain-link fence installation costs are affected by the fluctuating cost of steel, regional labor rates, the height of fence you select, and the features you select, such as a powder-coated finish. The industry standard is galvanized steel, which is rust- and corrosion-resistant. Galvanized chain-link fence installation cost, including labor and materials, is typically $12 per linear foot. For a more contemporary and elegant option, black powder-coated galvanized chain-link fence might cost approximately $15 per linear foot on average, including materials and labor. For industrial sites or businesses, 10-foot-high galvanized chain-link fences may provide additional security, but also have an added cost. A 10-foot-high chain-link fence could cost $17-$18 per linear foot, including labor and materials.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl fence?

A new fence can mean added home value, increased curb appeal, and improved home security. The national average vinyl fence installation cost is $4,600. Vinyl fences have a number of appealing qualities such as their durability, their lasting good looks (they don’t weather like wood does), their versatility, and the fact that they require little to no maintenance such as staining. Fencing companies typically charge per linear foot for vinyl fence installation. They calculate their estimates based on materials to be used, height of fence, linear feet of the proposed fence, and the accessibility of the terrain. If the workers need to level the land before work begins, your vinyl fence installation costs will probably increase. Vinyl fences are typically more expensive than wood or chain-link. For example, one company might charge $19-$22 per linear foot for a basic 6-foot vinyl privacy fence. Another company might charge $25-$35 per linear foot for standard vinyl fencing, while decorative fencing with custom detail could increase that cost to $50 per linear foot. For a 6-foot-high white vinyl privacy fence with two walk-through gates (plus demolition and disposal of the old fence), the cost of the total project could run $8,000. A 4-foot-high, 36-linear-foot white picket vinyl fence with one gate could cost $2,600.

How much does it cost to install a wood fence?

Help define your property line, protect your home and yard, and boost your curb appeal with a new wood fence. The national average for wood fence installation cost is $3,250. Wood fence installation costs will vary based on your geographic location, the type of wood you select, the height and style of wood fence you desire, and the condition of your property. Pressure-treated pine is a common and attractive choice that is usually resilient against rot and bugs. Cedar is another budget-friendly option that, although more expensive than pressure-treated pine, can be more affordable than redwood or teak. A wood fence requires maintenance to ensure its long-term health and beauty, so keep future staining and painting costs in mind when you’re calculating fence installation costs. Here are some examples of how height and material affect the approximate cost of wood fences:

    • 6-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence: $15-$17 per linear foot.
    • 4-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence: $13-$20 per linear foot.
    • Cedar fence: $18-$25 per linear foot.
    • 6-foot-high, double-sided (meaning both sides are uniform), pressure-treated pine fence with 6x6 posts: $25 per linear foot.
    • 12-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence with custom detailing: $75 per linear foot.
    • 6-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence with a custom lattice top: $30-$50 per linear foot.

How much does it cost to install a fence gate?

Adding a gate to your fence can be a practical way to provide access to a yard, work area or outdoor living space while ensuring safety and privacy. Gate installation costs will vary based on the gate material you select, the size of your gate, whether you install a fence at the same time, and any special features you’d like to add. Standard opening size for a single-wide gate is 4 feet; a double-wide gate is 8 feet. A small gate may be for decoration; a double-wide gate can be mounted on a rolling caster system to allow access for cars or wide loads. Here are some examples of average fence gate installation costs:

    • 4-foot, single-swing chain-link gate: $100 for materials and installation costs.
    • 28-foot wheeled chain-link gate on a caster system: $800-$1,000 for materials and installation costs.
    • 4-foot, single-swing wood gate: $75.
    • 8-foot double-wide wood gate: $150.
    • 4-foot white vinyl walk-through gate: $300–$400 for materials and installation costs.
    • 8-foot, double-wide white vinyl gate: about $800 for materials and installation costs.
    • White vinyl gate fence more than 8 feet wide: $1,200-$1,500 for materials and installation.
    • Arched black powder-coated aluminum pool gates: $175-$200 per gate.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
