Introduction: Attention to detail and understanding all customers are different. I listen to a customers wants and needs regarding lawn care service for their residence. 20 year Navy Veteran in which majority of my job had me indoors. After retiring in 2008 I decided that working indoors for 20 years was enough. I love working outdoors even if it does mean working in 90+ degree weather in San San Antonio. The job also affords me to attend St. Philip's College full time by allowing me to set my work schedule so as not to impede with college classes.

We have used Gus and A Cut Above All Lawn Care Service for over 2 years now. He has been very professional and resondable with his pricing. Even with the elevated cost for gas, he has allowed his existing customers to keep with the same price. He's fixed our fences, edged, mowed, trimmed hedges, applied fertilizer, killed our weeds, added mulch, weeded the flower beds, and added a retaining wall and stones around our trees. Needless to say, our yard is the best looking yard on our street. Gus has always returned our emails in a timely manner. Our house is currently on the market, and has shown up on the same day as a service has been requested. If our house doesn't sell, and we have to rent our house, we plan to include Gus's services with our rent because he has done such an amazing job on our yard, and we are loyal customers.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most common jobs we perform is basic lawn care service which includes edging, trim grass growing in between cracks of sidewalk and driveway, trim and blow grass clippings off driveway, sidewalk and street.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always ask for the following; business license/insurance/paper work (contract) for work being performed. Never pay with cash unless there is paper work or receipt for work performed. Always pay by check or credit card. Always ask for a receipt.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I tend to see my work as a work of art where my clients lawns, small trees, and hedges are my canvas. I look around the neighborhood and see other yards and ask myself, what can I do to make this yard stand out? This can be achieved by pruning a tree, mowing in a different pattern, trimming a hedge that is out of the norm or add some landscape to the yard.
