The good:
1. Dave has a competitive price
2. He was great at communicating and showed up on time.
3. Was very polite and curteous.
The bad:
1. The first time Dave came out, the water softener was missing some parts and Dave could not do the install. He charged me a $45 trip fee. This was unexpected and just added insult to injury since I could not get my water softener installed. I know time is money and so I paid it, however, it was not my fault the water softener company did not include the right parts, I would expected a little compassion and $45? I thought that was a little steep. Trip fees should be known up front, he did not let me know.
2. I called Dave out a second time when the parts were here and he installed the water softener. He really didn't know what he was doing. He installed the brine tube into the drain (Which was supposed to go to the control unit), worse he cut the tubing so that it was unusable and I had to go buy another one. He obviously has not installed a Fleck water softener before.
3. He got lost on the installation and I had to download some youtube videos for the install. I guess it's not possible to know every make/model but Fleck is the most popular water softener in the US. I would expect an experienced plumber to have installed these at least a few times.
4. Perhaps the worst part was when Dave left, he backed his truck over my newly laid grass as he backed out my drive way. Did he get out and inspect for damage? No, he just drove off leaving me a huge mess to clean up. Thanks, Dave ...
5. I did not get a receipt for the work (if he were a professional plumber I would have expected this) and as he walked away he says, "Oh I guarantee my work for 30 days." 30 days?? Most people will warranty their work for at least a year.
Overall: He got the job done. Would I use him again? NO. Would I recommend him to friends? NO.

We got a quote within minutes. It was extremely reasonable, ( lowest bid out of 5) It was a Sunday afternoon and he offered to do it that day! He arrived at our home an hour after speaking to us on the phone. He installed our new toilet within 45 min. He was polite, professional and did a great job. We plan to call on him again in the future.
