We used Twin Connection Travel to help all of our guests book their trip to our wedding this summer. Each person that booked through TCT loved has simple, fast, and painless the process was. We even had a nightmare situation when we were leaving for the wedding. We ended up missing our first flight, because of some extreme situations at the airport, but Ellen hopped right on the phone and was able to immediately get us something booked for later that morning! We literally would not have been able to make our wedding if it wasn't for TCT! There isn't enough nice things to be able to say about how great both Helen and Ellen are. Every trip that we will be taking in the future, will be done through these two amazing women!

Doug was very good. He made the process very easy & I forgot he was there most times. I had a small wedding of 25 people & still had over 500 photos from him. He really captured some great moments of all our guests & was very responsive to pictures I wanted. I definitely recommend him!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with John Garza as my photographer for my wedding in 08/2015. I did not have a large budget to work with, and a lot of my family and friends thought his rates were to good to be true, but the pictures turned out to be exactly what I wanted and more. John took pictures at my ceremony and my reception. After a crazy stressful week, I finally contacted John by text on the way to the church and he replied that he was already there. I did not give John any type of picture list, or vision of what I wanted, I basically said "Do your thing!" and left him to fend for himself. John was like a ninja during the ceremony, I don't recall seeing him take any pictures, only after I saw the pictures did I realize he took A LOT. After, we did all the family shots in the church, John was very patient even though he was being pushed by my relatives trying to take their own pictures. :) After the ceremony our bridal party traveled to a garden even though it was so hot we had so much fun taking pictures. He offered his ideas and let us be weird and crazy. He took the best action shots at the reception and he was always ther for the best memorable moments. I even completely forgot that I had booked him till 9pm and time went over, but he never bothered me about it or said anything. He was very polite. All in all John was awesome, the experience and the many many pictures turned out to be perfect!

Roger Diaz was amazing! He did everything so perfect. You tell him what you would like to hear at your event and he will do exactly what you would like. He was my DJ at my wedding on the 18th of April and he made our night so great! I couldn't have asked for any other DJ. My wedding reception was unforgettable and an evening to remember always. Thank you again Roger for all you did to make our entire night so special! Mr. And Mrs. Adam Rios

Audrie was wonderful! We wanted a simple, elegant, non-tradition, and bilingual ceremony and she was able to give us all the above! We had several compliments from friends and family saying that the ceremony felt "like us". Which means Audrie did a great job of understanding and getting to know us in the short time we had with her. Thanks for a wonderful wedding, Audrie!

We hired him for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. He did a great job. He showed up early and offered to stay late without us even asking. We are more than pleased. Book him and you won't be disappointed. He is the real deal. He played every song on our requested list. Wow!!!

We hired Alvarez Catering for our wedding and they were absolutely wonderful!! Teresa was always there to answer any questions I had and was so accommodating to all of our needs. I never felt worried or stressed about our catering for one second. We chose to have a Thanksgiving feast for our fall wedding, which included turkey, pineapple glazed ham, stuffing, buttermilk mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and sweet/unsweet tea. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone complimented us on how great the food was and I absolutely agree. It was set up buffet style with attendants and the lines moved quickly. I cannot thank Teresa and this company enough for making our day so special. They even arrived earlier than we agreed so that they wouldn't distract our ceremony. I would choose them over and over again! THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for completing our day! - Shaina & Alex

I hired Elite DJ Squad to be the entertainment for my wedding. When I first met up with them, they were very personable and were very determined to meet all of my wants and needs. They made sure to get a playlist from me of all the songs that I absolutely needed and added some of their own to fit my preferences. On the day off my wedding the arrived early to set up with sound check so everything would proceed with no issues. During the event they connected with the crowd and they were the life of the party. Guests were on the dance floor all night. They took song requests with no issues. When it's was time for the last song of the night people were begging for more. These two gentlemen are great!!!! I definitely recommend them for your next event!!!

We hired Kniseley Catered for our 3/25/17 wedding and were extremely pleased with their service. Robert was always prompt in responding to my emails and worked with us to customize our menu. In February, I realized I needed to also have my rehearsal dinner, which was the night before, catered since we were in Canyon Lake and Robert and his family pulled through with an amazing fajita bar! Our family knows Mexican food and we received so many compliments on how good our food was! We served BBQ at our wedding and again received nothing but positive feedback. Robert and his family went above and beyond for us and were very friendly and personable with our guests. We would highly recommend Kniseley Catered!

Mary is amazing! We did a trial run because I don't usually wear very much makeup and I was hesitant about it. I was so impressed with her work and her personality was definitely a plus. She did my hair and makeup for bridal portraits and her staff did hair & makeup for 11 people for my wedding including me. We got so many compliments and my husband still is talking about how much he loved my makeup. He said I looked breathtakingly gorgeous! Mary and her staff are the best :).

210 Music did a great job responding back to us and keeping in touch throughout the process of getting this set up for a wedding with a 150 guests. I had no idea what I was doing. They also stuck to my daughters play list and improvised when needed. They were reasonably priced and we got our moneys worth.

Alex did our Beach Wedding, and the experience was truly Amazing! His attention to detail and being able to capture every aspect was again Amazing! We have worked with a few photographers before but none of them matched Alex and his "Eye" for capturing the perfect moment with every shot! Definitely using him for our Vow Renewal at our 10 Year Anniversary.

I can't say enough good things about our experience working with DeeDee. Not only did she take wonderful photos of our surprise wedding, she was just a pleasure to work with throughout the process. She met us shortly after being booked on Thumbtack so we could talk about our event in person, and then communicated regularly with us from there on out. Every single aspect of the process was handled professionally, from the contract to the invoicing, to making sure she had the schedule of events ahead of time. She (and her helper) were on time, fun to work with, and made a point of confirming we had all the photo shots we wanted before wrapping things up. She sent us the watermarked photos to review within the agreed upon timeframe, and even went out of her way to put together a slideshow for us. We're just so happy with how they turned out just had a great overall experience. It was so important to us to have our special day captured by a professional photographer. So very glad we found DeeDee on Thumbtack!!

For our engagement photo shoot Maria and her daughter were AMAZING. They were so very kind and punctual. They had great suggestions and ideas of poses for our engagement photos. They made us look even better than we already look lol. Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos and have them at my wedding day.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

  • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
  • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
  • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
  • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
  • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
  • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
  • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
  • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you find a good caterer?

Reviews, interviews and menu tastings will help you find the right catering choice for your big day. Start by screening possible wedding caterers based on past reviews. If a caterer you are interested in has a review that concerns you, ask them about it; how they respond will be very telling. Next, ask about their availability for your wedding date.

If the wedding caterer is available on your date, it’s time to talk about menus and prices. Be clear about what your maximum budget is find out what choices this will allow you. Caterers may custom-create a menu for your event, or they may have menu templates within different price ranges that can guide your decision. A clear budget gives the caterer clear parameters within which to work and offer creative suggestions. Schedule a menu tasting to confirm you love your wedding menu. Once you have a menu and date, and have paid a deposit to reserve the caterer’s services, confirm additional details including when the food will be delivered to the site, what kind of service will be provided, how many servers will be onsite and for how long, and who is responsible for setup and cleanup. The more specific your contract, the fewer worries you’ll have on your wedding day. Get more smart hiring tips here.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.
