Introduction: I'm a Master Carpenter with nearly 4 decades of experience. I grew up in "the trades" and am familiar with all aspects of construction, from the ground up. It's my goal to provide the best value for your custom furniture and woodworking dollar. I spend my time now working in my shop building custom furniture and small cabinet jobs. I do not build large, upholstered commercial furniture.

General Carpentry

Greenough Construction performed excellently on reinstalling all the (Medeco Assa Abloy) locks and repairing all the respective doors on our home. The initial installation of these locks was a botched-up job by a so-called professional locksmith who, as it turned out, did not know much about locksmithing let alone Carpentry. Greenough even went beyond their contracted charge and fixed 2 outside electrical outlets that have lain dormant for ever 10 years on the house.

Custom Furniture Building

Not much customer service.
GOFG woodworking's reply
Thank you for your feedback, but in all fairness, we DID make a special trip to see you, at your request. You weren't home, you were unresponsive to multiple texts and phone calls. You finally responded by text nearly 7 hours past our appointment time. We're only too happy to discuss your project with you. Perhaps you'd like to set up another appointment?

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

It can be somewhat difficult to give a fair and accurate bid from a picture, or just over the phone, regardless of our minimum/base fees. We seek to give our customers the best value for their project dollar. Therefore, we like to come out and see your job before we give you a bid.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first thing I like to do is discuss the job, either on the phone or in person. This allows me to get a better feeling for what the customer needs and wants. I can also evaluate the best course of action to take. I have nearly 40 years of construction experience, and I might be able to offer an alternative that is more cost-effective.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I began working in the trades every summer from the age of eleven. Over the next few years I worked my way up from cleaning lob sites to building walls, and everything in between. At 25, I apprenticed under a master carpenter, and at 37 I earned my Master Carpenter status. I was a licensed general contractor in Northern California before moving to Texas in 1999. My specialty is home remodeling, as well as tile, finish trim and stairs. I also enjoy restoring antiques and building furniture. In addition to this, I am a professional ice sculptor. My art work has been displayed in most of the hotels in the Galveston area, as well at a few art galleries for over 15 years.
