Introduction: DesignScapes offers landscape design, planting design, tree removal/trimming, maintenance, and spring/fall clean-up. My design service is focus on a good design, a design that you like and takes care of your concerns. My clients have my full attention, with lower cost, and no obligation when choosing landscapers/contractors. You can purchase the design-and-planting information-only to DIY your yard, or use the outstanding crews I work with. I am a designer. I do not put plants in your yard just to fill up a bed. I don't put a row of shrubs by the wall just because your neighbors do so. Everything (hardscape and lansdcape) on my design has a reason. I create the space and the view for you, and they provide you different experiences when you are in it and even outside of it. I can work with just one flower bed, or a whole yard as a master plan for you to work in phases if you'd like to. Once you finish the whole yard, it looks like a whole, not pieces together. I like to talk to people and to get to know them. I like to draw and design. My job makes me happy! Being a landscape designer is not just providing a design. I need to get to know you, the family, the pets, the yard, in order to give you an outdoor space for everyone and every occasion.

Although I can't hire Cindy as of yet, I am very impressed with how professional and courteous and professional she has been throughout the quote process. She has great work ethic and tons of unique idea's to help shine light on a dull yard! She is truly motivated to help your dreams come to light! She is honest and respects your wants and needs when it comes to pricing. I will be using Cindy for all upcoming landscaping project on my 10.5 acres. Landscape design - Cindy did a wonderful job of creating a very creative design for our difficult small backyard with very narrow existing beds. She explained her design thoroughly explaining reasons for each plant's placement with much consideration to our lifestyle and use of our space. I would highly recommend her and plan to use her services again for our front yard!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. One-hour onsite meeting - to get to know you and the yard 2. Survey and photography - to measure and take pictures 3. Design 4. Presentation - including planting design, planting information
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BS Degree in Forestry, a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and 3 courses remained to receive another Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture. I have worked / been working as a landscape designer for large and small scale design and planning projects. I also attended several seminars through Texas A&M AggriLife Extension Services as well as Texas Nursury & Landscape Association to keep my knowledge updated.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in a city center (concrete jungle) that turned into a beautiful place packed with trees and flowers. I knew it when I was in college that I wanted to provide the same changes to people.
