Josh is a great personal trainer, really taught me a lot I don't know even though I work out regularly! He showed me the flaws in NY technique and how I can fix them. Josh is a great guy and is always willing to answer any questions I haveJun 5, 2015
In early February of 2015, I made the decision to hire a personal trainer to help lose weight and get into better physical condition. I had in mind a preference to work with an "independent" trainer; not one associated with one of the "chain" fitness centers. A quick Internet search led me to Josh Norris. I was very impressed with Josh during both our initial consultation and the complimentary first session he offered. Since then, I have signed up for one year's worth of training (my idea, not Josh's). In the four months I've been training with Josh, I've lost about 25 pounds, added a noticeable amount of muscle, and significantly improved my cardiovascular endurance. I've come to consider Josh a good friend in addition to a remarkable trainer. He is very knowledgeable about human physiology and the roles played by both diet and exercise in getting into shape. His attitude is unfailingly positive. He is a tremendous motivator. He understands that each person is different and requires an approach tailored specifically to him or her. He is flexible in terms of scheduling, while being very appreciative when his clients are flexible with him as well. He varies his training routines so his client's body doesn't get used to a particular sequence of exercises and "stagnate". This is also effective at making the workouts more interesting. He is very mindful of the possibility of injury or overtraining and watches carefully and asks questions to ensure that he is pushing hard, but not too hard. Let me say in closing that Josh is an extremely professional and RELIABLE trainer and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend him to family or friends. I find him to be a young man of sterling character.Jun 10, 2015
Josh is very patient and energetic. I have lost more weight in the last 2 months than all other trainers combined. He is an excellent help.....Jun 1, 2015Verified
I am very glad to have found Josh and his entire studio. I was looking for someone who would help get me into shape and also address an old sports injury I had. Josh is that person and so much more. One week into training with Josh and I was walking with my back straighter (albeit a bit sore). Four months later and I feel amazing. I still leave every workout as exhausted as the first day, but I have never felt better. I recenlty went on a vacation where I had to walk for 8 hours a day and I was the only one in the group not tired. More importantly, I was able to wake up the next day with no soreness - no back pain, nothing. I felt like I could just keep going and I credit that feeling and so much more to my training with Josh.Nov 10, 2015Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?pricing just depends on your length of commitment and how many times you need to see me. It all depends on your goal and time frame.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am an active member of ptonthenet.com. They provide the latest testimonials and studies across the world to keep me up to date with top news in health and fitness. I attend 3-5 seminars a year to further my education and to help me increase my knowledge.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?In 2005, I gained the freshman 20. That summer after a trip to the beach with my friends, I felt embarrassed and disgusted with my body. Therefore, I decided to get in the best shape of my life and to make a change for the better. It didn't take long for me to start seeing results and I loved the transformation my body was making. I went on to change my major the next year to Exercise Science and I have been a personal trainer ever since I graduated in the Spring of 2010.
