Working with Dale was awesome! My 9 year old son was very responsive to him, and I could tell they were getting some real work done in there! Dale was patient, encouraging, and definitely worked at my son's speed and comfort level. It's obvious that Dale has a passion for teaching and for music, and he's clearly great at both. We have set up a regular schedule so that my son can continue working with Guitar with Syx (Dale). Very pleased with this experience.
Steve has been teaching first time guitar lessons to my son. He feels so comfortable with Steve and is learning at a steady pace! Steve is so cool and incorporates a variety of music genres. A great experience!
Eddie is an awesome guitar teacher. I hadn't touched a guitar since that one time in highschool when I tried to teach myself to play (you can guess how that went) and so I was pretty convinced I would be terrible at it, but after only a few months of lessons I have learned a lot and am having a lot of fun. I am an opera singer, voice teacher and pianist and started taking lessons so that I may accompany myself and perhaps my students in the future. Because of Eddie's flexible teaching style I am on my way to reaching that goal. He does a great job of catering each lesson to my needs in that moment. If I have trouble understanding or executing something he simply finds a different way to approach it. His passion not just for playing the guitar, but also for music in general including theory and exploring different genres makes lessons so engaging that they fly by. So much so in fact, that instead of 30 minutes we are now doing 45 each week. I highly recommend Eddie as a guitar teacher and look forward to many more lessons!
David's been a wonderfully patient guitar teacher to our 7-year-old daughter. By designing lessons that provide her a real sense of accomplishment even early in the process, he has helped her maintain her early enthusiasm. He even went above and beyond by giving us practical, detailed and extremely helpful advice in choosing the best guitar for her needs (and our budget).
He has been so great with my son!! Patient and thorough. Very happy with him!!

I am an Austin based guitarist and mathematician/statistician. I have a lot of university experience in math/stat and have played the guitar for 20 years.
I teach beginner guitarist who want to learn anything, from notes to playing a song they hear on the radio. I usually don't teach notes until they get used to the feel of the guitar and learn by what they hear, but everybody is different. I teach everything, from hammer-ons and pull-offs, bar chords and strumming patterns.
I offer beginning and advanced guitar lessons. I provide basic theory, notation, song structure, rock and roll, country, blues and funk.
Simply put, I'm the best. What else is there to say?
I've taught guitar and general music lessons for a high school class the past two years, and I have ample experience in private tutoring. I have a broad range of musical experience including playing many instruments and different genres, so it's easy for me to develop the perfect teaching style for any individual of any level of experience. I also have experience tutoring students in math from the ages of 7 to more than 20 years old.
I teach guitar differently to each student depending on the personality, level of ability, and interest. Though I use method books and materials some, I don't just teach everybody right out of the book like most teachers. Also most other teachers work either too slowly or too quickly for the student. I assess the speed of leaning based on the individual.
I teach from beginner to intermediate guitar lessons. I teach most styles of playing, but I specialize in rock and blues. Thank you for your interest. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more details.

I'm an avid guitarist, and it's something I love teaching. I taught myself after the age of 12. I'm a dedicated and motivated sort of person, and if there's something I don't know how to do, I will spend countless hours learning it myself in order to teach it.
