"Best Experience Ever with a Contractor. I have not written many review in my life so when you work with this company you will know why I did. We are so thankful to make our house look like new. His worker worked late everyday to complete walls and celling in a timely manner. My wife loves the color. We had a minor issue and they fixed everything before leaving. Every step of the way was a pleasure and easy. Thank you, thank you. (Scrap 1,000 sqft of popcorn, float and re texture walls, patch old light boxes and paint.). Sorry on pictures."

"The services were very professional and done with details in mind. Both Dee Dee and her husband were very helpful and willing to add extra cleaning and other needed handy man services. We were more than pleased. We hired Dee Dee to clean our home before we moved in. They left our home with not only a fresh smell, but a very peaceful and friendly atmosphere. We even hired her husband to install new toilets in all of our bathrooms and he was able to complete that job the same day as well. We appreciate all of your work. Thank you for your reasonable prices and your willingness to work with us on all our new home projects!"

"I can not describe how happy and satisfied I am with Alex Cleaning service. I am super super picky. I can clean my own house top to bottom and expect someone I hire to do the same. Alex does it! She put up with my request list and detailed cleaning instructions and followed them perfectly. She also does my laundry which is sooooo wonderful! I trust her in my home alone and around my children. This company is trustworthy and professional. I definitely recommend them."

"I hired Neat As A Pin to come to my house and make recommendations on how to better organize my spaces, so I could enjoy working and living in my house! I also explained some of the obstacles to my clutter: friends' and relatives' gifts and heirlooms. Jennifer Snyder looked at every room and then handwrote her recommendations to me. I keep her recommendations in a notebook and refer to the valuable information often. Her advice was worth every penny of my investment, and her common sense advice is still applicable to new challenges. My favorite piece of her advice is that she told me how to use my mothers' (I thought, impractical) gifts of crystal sugar and creamer and toothpick holders pieces. Jennifer recommended putting my earrings, lipstick, and make up brushes in the crystal pieces on my make up dresser. I love it! Now these loved heirlooms are not taking up storage space, but are lovely to look at, and being used daily! I highly recommend Neat as a Pin/Organizing Experts. Priceless information! Julie Waldrip"

"Truly A+++! I had a horrible experience where I booked someone else and they no called/no showed only to guarantee they’d be there the next day (which was required by my landlord to be clean by) only for them to then cancel last minute and leave me completely hanging! I reached out and found this great company that totally came to my rescue and offered same day service (totally unexpected) and did so with amazing thoroughness (house looked AMAZING when done - I mean, seriously!). I can’t recommend them enough!!! Thank you so much for helping me out of my jam and doing such a great job on top of it! :)"

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.
