Introduction: I have been doing this since a very young age. I think because I do horses, donkeys and mules, I have more experience and I show and trail ride, english and western and have shown almost all disciplines that helps me a lot. Also I am very patient.. and because I am a trainer I can explain the animals actions better then someone that isn't. Just about everything. I have been blessed with a talent that I get to make a living at.. Not many people are working a job they love.. Animals are good for the soul and the heart.. It makes everyone better to spend time with animals. I also enjoy meeting new people and kids. And especially new animals .

I have hired Janet Vance to train horses for me for over 30 years. I trust her talent so much that I have bought more than a few horses from her through the years, not in person, but over the phone. She is that good, not only as a trainer, but she has the ability to size up the rider and match with a horse. I've been a rancher for near 40 years and the best horses on the ranch are horses that have come through Janet Vance. The horses that I have bought elsewhere have been automatically sent to Janet ....I have a reputation as a good rider but I can honestly say (and I have said this to more than one person) that I am not a great rider, I ride well-trained horses and that makes me look good. Janet is the Bible to me on well mannered and dependable horses.

She trained one mule and continued the education of a second mule.I said trained trained because there was none of those rough "breaking" methods used.Firm but kind,rewarding and effective.She's a natural born horse whisper!!!

We met Janet through recommendation of the American Donkey and Mule Society. We were looking for a trainer for our twin donkeys. She halter trained them and also drive trained them for harness to carts. We highly recommend her. She does not abuse them and has an innate sense of what to do with each animal to get it to its best. Bobbi and Robert Church

She has the patience of a saint and understands these equines. She did a wonderful job with my mule and I wish I could continue with lessons from her.

I highly recommend Janet as a horse trainer. I took my 5 yr. old Palomino Halter show mare to her in October and rode her on a trail ride the first of December. She went over wooden bridges and beside bicycle riders with no problem. Very pleased with Janet's training ability, will deffinetly bring another to her.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Always start from the beginning. No matter what a student or animal is supposed to know, I think it is important to start from the beginning so we understand each other.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This has been a lifetime for me.. Been training since I was 9 yrs old and been teaching lessons since I was 12. I go to clinics as much as possible to stay up to date and learn new things.
