Qi Remedies Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine

Introduction: Around eight years ago I found myself in an Acupuncturist’s office, being treated for a persistent and intractable pain in my lower abdomen. This was not my first acupuncture treatment, but it was by far the most profound! Western medicine had no diagnosis for me and therefore they had no treatment plan for me, despite the hundreds of dollars I had already spent on tests. Acupuncture was a last ditch attempt at relief for me and I was honestly not too hopeful. Imagine my surprise when I was freed of my pain after a single treatment! My acupuncturist did not seem at all surprised by this… as a matter of fact, she seemed quite use to the shock and amazement that I was displaying. This, in and of itself, left an impression on me. I was undeniably inspired and motivated by this experience and two years later I took the plunge and enrolled in Chinese Medicine school. It became my life’s desire to help others in the simple, elegant, and effective way that my friend had helped me. Although Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and has helped millions of people around the globe, there has been some skepticism about it here at home. Until recently, that is! Once a marginalized medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are finally being recognized, utilized, and appreciated by some of our nation’s best hospitals.
