Tyson is the best, hardest working realtor I have ever been involved with! I am so glad I found him here on Zillow! He never misses a beat! No matter what, he always responds to my questions right away! He is super professional in an meetings with the title people and mortgage people. When showing the homes he is so polite and considerate to all persons involved! We are now closed on our very old home (yes, TYSON had a bidding war going on my old house, wow! So we got a great price for it!) In purchasing our new house, TYSON was extremely considerate with the seller so not to offend them (they absolutely did not want to use a realtor or MLS)! In spite of that, he was so kind towards them in offering his services to them, that they agreed to work with him as their realtor. They even expressed their happiness with his excellent service! TYSON is all about his clients, even if they are buyer and seller using him at the same time, he still represents both sides in a perfectly fair manner. You would have to look far and wide, and still probably not find a better man than Tyson for your real estate needs! We will never use anyone else, and we highly recommend Tyson to everyone, that's for sure!

Elisabeth Gondolo is an exceptionally hard worker, always taking care both to the details and to the time constraints. She also has a great personality! Even so, she knows how to be professional and stand her ground. In real estate, knowledge about the market and the specifics of a deal is super important, and Elisabeth is always able to answer my questions not only accurately but also in a way that makes sense to someone inexperienced in the field. I highly recommend her as a real estate agent and definitely look forward to working with her in the future!

        About

My clients know that I am their advocate. I look out for their best interest. I live by the motto: "Give Your Best." I have more than 16 years in the property management and real estate industries. Two letters of recommendation from my clients below: To Whom It May Concern: The purpose of this letter is to recommend Jacquelyn Walker to you for a challenging position with increasing responsibility in her field of expertise. I have known Jackie in a professional relationship for approximately three years. During our initial conversations, I learned that she had managed properties in both Park City and Deer Valley since 2001, had earned a business degree from the University of Utah and had a Utah Real Estate License. Our first engagement consisted of Jackie voluntarily aiding me with condo problems that I experienced. This was particularly helpful because of her unique insight into the issues that both Canyon Creek homeowners and tenants face. Later on, I decided that my condo needed a major restoration. Please note that I live in Orlando, FL and my condo is located at Canyon Creek Condominiums in Park City, UT. In conversations with Jackie, I was her help with this extensive and expensive project. Further conversations with her, lead to my being confident in her abilities as a manager. As a result, I requested her assistance in a major $35,000.00 renovation of my condo. My decision to offer Jackie the task of managing the restoration project proved extremely wise! She surveyed the situation, sought and enlisted a qualified restoration firm and personally supervised the work involved during a two-month period. During this time, Jackie was given full authority to make decisions regarding replacement of appliances, furniture, carpeting, window blinds, and lighting fixtures. In addition, she hired plumbers, electricians, air conditioning repair personnel and others as the work was required. She kept me fully and continually informed of the restoration progress, seeking minimal approval or guidance from me. The result of the above effort was that my condo became a bright, beautiful, functional and inviting place to visit and live. Everyone that saw it was amazed at the transformation. More importantly, I am very pleased with the way that it turned out and I am convinced that the return on my investment will prove to be significant and will last for many years. I also believe that when and if I decide to sell the condo, I will be able to demand an excellent price for it. All of the above is meant to reflect the dynamic, highly motivated, professional leadership, management and communication abilities of Jackie. With respect to the latter, she continually displayed outstanding written and verbal skills. Her positive attitude, pleasing personality and entrepreneurial spirit were always evident. In addition, she displayed obvious teamwork ability in working with the many workers involved in the project. Further, her high standards and insistence on excellence made a major impact on my evaluation of her performance. To summarize, I have observed the performance of many individuals over a thirty- year military career as a naval officer. Jackie is a top ‘One-Percenter!’ She will be an asset to any organization fortunate to have her on their team. Sincerely, Lloyd W. Fernald, D.B.A. Professor Emeritus, University of Central Florida Captain,U.S. Navy (Ret). To Whom It May Concern, This letter of recommendation on behalf of Jacquelyn Walker, should be given serious consideration if there is any doubt of hiring Ms. JacquelynWalker. I have known Ms Walker four years now, and have entrusted her with all my real estate dealings. Throughout those years she has single handedly taken care of any and all property management issues regarding my rental properties. Once I give the keys to Ms Walker, I know with confidence she will not only find the best tenants, but she also handles any and all maintenance in a timely and very efficient manner. She has a host of reliable contractors who uphold the same trustworthiness that Ms Walker does, something that is very hard to find in todays business world. What makes Ms Walker standout, is her astute knowledge of real estate throughout the Salt Lake and Park City markets. Jacquelyn takes great pride in doing right by her clients and spends countless hours to ensure her clients receive the best service and most honest advice possible. When dealing with Ms Walker, one can rest assured she will meet your specifications of what you’re looking for with unsurpassed reliability. Whether it’s property management, buying or selling a home, Ms Walker doesn’t cut corners just to get a paycheck. I trust Ms Walker implicitly. If you are looking to work with Ms Jacquelyn Walker, I can say unequivocally you will not have any regrets. Her integrity, knowledge, and honesty is unsurpassed. In a marketplace where a number of agents think about their pocketbooks first and clients second, Ms Walker always puts her clients first and foremost, which is why I have unwavering trust in Ms Walker not matter what my real estate needs are. Sincerely yours, Andre Palai Building relationships is what work and life are all about.

Rather than seeing transactions as one-sided, I know how to put my clients' needs first, and not my own. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a real estate agent do?

Real estate agents help their clients buy, sell, and rent commercial and residential properties. There are also real estate agents that sell industrial and agricultural real estate, but the majority sell residential properties. To become a real estate agent, you must be at least 18 years old, successfully complete real estate courses, and pass a real estate exam. Be sure to check for any required licensing, too. Often real estate agents will earn 5 percent to 6 percent of the total home sale price for their work in representing their client. Typically this commission is split equally between the buyer’s agent and the seller’s agent. Here is an overview of what a real estate agent does, according to the United States Department of Labor:

        • Represent clients who are looking to buy, sell and rent properties.
        • Stay knowledgeable about regional real estate prices, mortgages, market conditions and related information, and advise clients accordingly.
        • Determine competitive market prices by comparing properties.
        • Create and publicize lists of properties for sale, including details such as location and features.
        • Market properties through advertisements, open houses and listing services.
        • Show prospective buyers or renters properties.
        • Present purchase offers to sellers for consideration.
        • Mediate negotiations between buyer and seller.
        • Ensure that all terms of purchase contracts are met.
        • Prepare documents, such as loyalty contracts, purchase agreements and deeds.

What should you look for in a real estate agent?

When you’re hiring a real estate agent you want to find a qualified pro who can negotiate the best deal for your home — whether you’re buying or selling. Reading reviews will help you weed out obvious bad operators; you want to work with someone who treats their clients with fairness and respect. That said, you also want someone who can play hardball and maximize your real estate deal. Ask for references from recent clients, and be sure to call them.

Experts encourage you to interview more than one prospective real estate agent before hiring. A home sale or home purchase is a big deal — sometimes the biggest deal in a person’s life — and you want to find an agent who will work hard for you. In today’s market, having a real estate agent who is social media savvy and has an attractive online presence is critical. Ask the agent how they plan to market your house. Review their listings, and ask yourself if they have professional photos with homes that are professionally staged. If the answer is no, they might not have the marketing savvy you’re looking for. Ask what price they would list your house at and why. Pay attention to how they communicate with you during your initial interviewing phase. Are they too busy to respond for several days? Are they clear and helpful? This information is a clue to how they’ll engage during the entire process.

What's the difference between a real estate broker and an agent?

Real estate agents and real estate brokers both help clients buy, sell, and rent residential and commercial properties. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, real estate brokers are licensed to manage their own real estate businesses. Real estate agents cannot have their own real estate office and must work under a broker. Real estate brokers often have real estate firms and employ real estate agents. Those real estate agents may be employees of the firm, or they may work on contract and earn part of any commission they bring into the firm.

If you are a homeowner ready to sell or a buyer in the market for a new home, either a real estate broker or a real estate agent can help you achieve your goal. What is more important than their title is their track record and client success stories. When interviewing real estate agents or brokers to help you buy or sell a home, ask about their recent sales history as compared with the original listing prices. If you’re selling a home, ask how they would market your home and what price they would list it at. Whether you hire an agent or broker, you want a professional who will have your best interests at heart.

What do real estate agents charge?

Real estate agents typically don’t charge a set rate to their clients, but rather earn a commission on the price of the final home sale. In traditional real estate, there is a buyer’s agent and a seller’s agent. The two agents receive 5 percent to 6 percent of the final home sale price and split it evenly, meaning they each earn roughly 2.5 percent to 3 percent of the total home sale. If you are a home seller, you may have fees associated with the sale that are above and beyond the commission the agents earn. The real estate agent may have you pay marketing fees, MLS fees, early cancellation fees, or more. Always ask pricing details before signing a contract so you clearly understand your financial obligations. Here are some of the average (and common) costs that can arise when selling a home:

        • Home inspection: $200-$350 or more, depending on region.
        • Home appraisal: $250-$400 or more, depending on region.
        • Professional real estate photography: $275-$550 or more, depending on photographer, square footage of house, and special requests like sunset shots.
        • Closing costs: Often split between the seller and buyer. An average range for the buyer to pay is between 3 percent and 4 percent, with the seller paying a lower fee at 1 percent to 3 percent of the home’s price.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
