Not only have I learned a lot of core fundamental theory, technique and training, I have learned that at SLC guitar lessons are ultimately about each individual being able to express themselves to the fullest with the guitar. Would recommend to anyone wanting to better themselves in a musical kind of way.
Our daughter has had 2 singing lessons so far, she is loving it and we have been very impressed!
I first met Mark through group guitar lessons through Davis Community Schools. I took his first and second group lessons. Since then I have been taking private lessons for almost two years now. Mark is an excellent guitar instructor. He adapts all my lessons to what I want to learn. He is patient, kind and encouraging. His favorite phrase is, "You are better today than you were yesterday!" I use to take lessons out of state for several years and never really learned anything. I never felt motivated to practice. In my two years with Mark, I have always desired to practice regularly and have made far more improvement in this short time than I ever did previously. If you are interested in lessons, or know someone who is, Mark is DEFINITELY your best choice! I have seen him work well with students of all ages. You can't go wrong with lessons from Mark DesLaurier!
Really positive and makes guitar lessons enjoyable. Cares about you making progress.
Micah is not only one of the best guitar players I know, but he is great at dissecting difficult tasks into easy to understand lessons. You can go to him as a beginner or even an advance player and walk out of every lesson with knowledge gained.
Kevin is a first class musician who knows his trade and craft well, he is patient, encouraging, and methodically presents the lessons so I learn not only how to play guitar but the music theory behind as well. Too bad I had to leave Utah to return home after a few months of contract work otherwise I am sure I will continue to take lessons from this talented young man.
He’s very kind and works with you at your preferred pace. He is good with helping you set and achieve goals. Overall one of the best guitar instructors I’ve met!
I like Steve. He has an overall great understanding of the guitar and I really like how he focuses on applying guitar theory. It's a slow and steady progression. Which is what I need.
I've been taking lessons with Austin for over a year now and couldn't be happier. I took lessons previous for five years on acoustic guitar, and then taught myself electric. I felt I needed more professional help on my electric guitar and decided to take lessons from Austin. My playing has improved immensely and I understand more music theory than I ever could have learned by myself or on YouTube. The overall experience has been great and I'm excited to learn more each week.
Ryan is a great guitar teacher. He is always patient with me and very knowledgeable about music theory.
Aaron is the most knowledgeable guitarist I know, and he is extremely patient. I highly recommend him
My son has been in guitar lessons with Ben for over a year. Ben encourages & challenges Jordan to take the next step in his musical growth. Jordan also has fun & looks forward to his lesson.
I play guitar and would like to teach my skills to beginning and intermediate students. I work well with kids!
My lessons go far beyond just playing guitar. I include: Music theory, Singing, and overall performance techniques.Depending on the students wants and abilities. My goal is to guide my students towards their personalized music goals. Including at times piano and vocal lessons in tandem with the guitar. This varies of course by the needs of the student
I teach guitar and bass for all types of music (best for jazz). I perform jazz. Depends on how you like, I do duo, trio and quartet.
I teach guitar lessons to raise money for underprivileged children in India. Because all proceeds from my lessons are donated, I teach on a pay-what-you-can basis. I've been playing guitar for 13 years and can teach from beginner to intermediate guitar. I have two years of teaching experience -- teaching children with mental illness. Contact me if you're interested.
My name says it, I am very passionate with music and teaching it only expands my love for it, I make sure every student accomplishes their goal to learn.
Hey, my name is Ian. I'm 23 years old; I live in Midway, Utah, and I've been a guitar teacher for the last 5 years. I'm currently a student at UVU and looking to expand my teaching pool. I have a very different teaching style in the way that I teach what you want to learn. Our first lesson will consist of you making a list of your favorite bands/songs and me teaching you based on that list. This way, we can progress your skills with the guitar, while always teaching what you would like to learn!
Lessons are tailored to the student's goals, including custom proportions of technique, song learning, and music theory. I can show you the way toward being an accomplished musician - whether you want to be in a band or just play for fun. I believe playing music is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. I am just recently getting my Thumbtack profile together, so more is to come. I have many years of experience playing and teaching. I have a great deal of success in getting students "unstuck" from their current level where they plateaued for a long time. For beginners, I can help you avoid long periods of being stuck from the git-go. I am a very patient teacher. I strive to find the balance between keeping it fun and doable, and at the same time providing encouragement for the challenge, at whatever rate each individual student can handle and likes. If you have goals for the guitar, I bet we can get there!
I am a fun, energetic, and experienced guitar teacher! I teach all styles from rock to jazz, classical and everything in between. If you're looking to get jamming on your favorite tunes in no time, I can help you learn in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I also provide affordable repair and maintenance services for your instrument.
I am an experienced private music instructor based in Provo, Utah. I teach acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar to beginner and intermediate level students. I travel to location and teach in-home. I specialize in finger-picking techniques, solo guitar techniques, and bass techniques for ensembles. I developed my skills through private instruction, band/ensemble membership, and college coursework at BYU. My students love my personable attitude and personalized lesson plans. Improvement in beginning students is seen in the first month, guaranteed, or your money back.
