Introduction: I have 9 years experience teaching elementary school. I taught Kindergarten for one year and 2nd grade for the other 8. I have tutored students from Kindergarten to 6th grade in reading and in math. I have won teacher of the year for my school and was KSL's teacher of the week in 2011. I am now a stay at home mom and enjoy tutoring on the side. I love tutoring because it is one on one. I love being able to see progress and help my students gain confidence in their abilities.

I wanted to be a teacher like Becky Anderton! I taught elementary school in the classroom next to Becky's and learned from her in so many ways. She knows how to teach and inspire children individually and has many years experience with students at all levels including children with special needs. She is expert at providing engaging enrichment activities for students who master concepts and in creating skill practice that provides reinforcement on areas they struggle. I've seen her at work in this again and again. Rather than teaching a curriculum and checking material off the list she teaches the student according to his or her needs to allow growth and success. Now as a mother I would trust her with my children in any area to provide academic instruction because of her experience, skills and love of children. I recommend her to my friends and know the students she works with feel confident and loved!

Becky is a great teacher. She can break the work down to teach a child a concept he/she is struggling with. Becky works hard to make sure her students learn and are successful. Becky is a kind caring teacher who knows how to work with children with varying difficulties. One of her students while in her class went from not being able to read at all to being able to read and knowing more sight words. I would trust any child with her Teaching skills.

Ms. Anderton's style is molded and changed to meet each child's style, age, and personality! She has a genuine love for each child and that shows in their success. She prepares unique lessons based on what they are learning in school and then helps them learn through games And techniques so enjoyable that the child doesn't even realize that they're learning tough fundamentals.

Becky has been tutoring my daughter for over a year now. Because of Becky's individualized lessons my daughter has moved up to a higher math level and is excelling! I highly recommend Becky. She knows how to build confidence and is very empathetic. We are so lucky we found Becky!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $20 a session for a 30 minute to 45 minute tutoring session. The time is depending on the age and attention span of the student.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I usually tutor 30-45 minute sessions in either math or reading and feel confident in both areas.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

My current student came to me with failing grades in math and her last three math tests have been A's! Her mom says she has never done this well in math before.
