Surf and Snow has been terrific so far. Very pleased with the initial photo shoot results and now waiting for the final images to be edited. His pricing is fair and the value is solid. I'd recommend Scott to anyone looking for a comfortable experience and great results.

He has a talent for making you feel immediately at ease, even when you're not comfortable in front of the camera. He is approachable and detailed about sharing his approach to the photos and what works for the goals you have in mind. He constantly checks in with you during the photo shoot and takes his time. The lighting he delivered in the photos, most taken in and around his home, were stunning. I wanted more professional photos for an online dating profile.

Acting Headshots

Scott is amazing! This is my first time getting headshots done professionally. In the past I have had my amateur friends take my headshots, so I was a little nervous getting them done by someone I never met. However, Scott made me feel like we have been friends for years and the whole shoot was so natural and comfortable. On top of the super relaxed and fun shoot, he got me my finished photos in a couple days! His service blew me away and anyone who needs headshots needs to give him a call.
Surf and Snow Country Images's reply
Hey Chana, it was great working with you as well and glad we were able get time scheduled that allowed for a quick turnaround. "Break a leg" with your audition this weekend!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

There are several considerations when pricing a photography assignment fairly. These are the main factors that I consider: 1) Is it for personal, commercial or editorial use 2) How many people are involve 3) What location will be used 4) How much notice and how quickly are the photos needed 5) How many distinct "looks" are needed 6) Will prints be included or a la carte Once I understand the needs of the job, I can provide a price in advance that you can count on. I can work with most budgets. My focus is on quality images over quantity. As a result, I may spend 30-120 finalizing just one image as I believe it's more important to have one great image versus several good ones. To give my clients the best of both, I do provide proof galleries to view and evaluate the best ones and then I focus on finalizing those selections. This way clients receive the very best and within in their budget.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to have a conversation to better understand my client's expectations for photo session, the style of photography they have in mind, and what the intended use for the images will be. That way, I can plan the session so expectations are at least met and exceeded where possible.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes, I'm actively involved in the Professional Photographers of America associate where I'm pursuing certifications and additional online workshops. I attend other workshops hosted by renowned photographers throughout the year as well. I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy which has provided a great foundation for the physics and technical aspects and have been a management consultant/project manager for over 20 years which has helped me see and understand client needs and manage many variables for on time, on budget with the highest quality of image delivery.
