I needed a plumber to come out within a few hours to move a drain pipe and they were able to get there quickly and do the job quickly so my carpenter could finish installing my kitchen cabinets. The guy was knowledgeable and friendly and the price was reasonable.

Thanks guys for the help. I had what I thought was a supply line issue and it turned out to be a drain issue. Not knowing exactly where the drain pipe was broken, the estimate was $400-700. In having your guys point me in the right direction, I decided to tackle the issue my self and told them I would setup another appointment if it was more in-depth. Turns out the pipe was broken right at a joint, so I was able to buy some new parts and make the repair myself. I appreciate the promptness and professionalism of your team and would definitely call you again if I have a bigger issue.

Replaced an outside faucet leaving it more convenient for us. Great job. Suggested a more economical way to fix the problem on an inside drain. Very happy with Terry’s work and professionalism.

We had a drain that has been problems since we moved into our house over a year ago. We had it cleaned out by two other companies before but it just didn’t fix the problem. We were in need of a drain specialist asap to help fix our clogged kitchen sink! We put in our request on Friday afternoon and 2 hours later we got a very professional quote for Anthony of Advanced Rooter and Drain Service LLC. I called to see if there was any chance that he would be available to come out and help solve our drain dilemma the following day, which by the way was a Saturday. Hopeful that he would be available he didn’t even skip a beat and let us know that he was available all day and that he would be happy to help. We scheduled an appointment at 10 am the next day and right at 10:00 am sharp our doorbell rang. I was shocked! He was in uniform and put on booties so that he would not track in dirt or debris. He walked us through the process and told us how much it would be before he started work. Once everything was explained he took care of the drain and went into detail about what the process as he was working so that we would be aware of why things were happening as he went and what we could do hopefully prevent it from happening again. The best thing is that we don't have to clean up after he left as you do with some other companies. There was not a trace left behind of his work other than a drain that is working PERFECTLY now. Also, the peace of mind that he has a solid guarantee that if anything comes up in the next little while that we will be covered. We will be referring everyone we know because we had an exceptional experience that you don’t get with most companies! Thank you again for your prompt, professional and exceptional service. It is not every day that you find a solid business that takes care of their customers and does fantastic work!

Hired High Point for some rough-in plumbing and adding a new shower drain for a basement finishing project. Work was excellent and finished very quickly. Decided to have them add a few heater vents and a return and they were able to do it the next day. Price was great too. I would definitely use High Point Plumbing again.

We needed repair on our kitchen sink, garbage disposal, and two bathrooms. He was on time and he was very professional while he was in our home. He cleaned up after himself and also left things the way they were underneath the sink after he left. He was very friendly and very efficient and wanted to take care of our problems right away. You could see that he was sincere and that he cared.

The Job was to replace some old cast iron stand pipe and drain lines feeding it, add a floor drain and replace some galvanized water lines. Vinny came when he said he would, stayed every night until sometimes 10 pm to make sure I had water and toilets before leaving at the end of every day. My home is 70 years old so as I expected there were some unpleasant extra surprises that could have been very expensive but Vinny didn't take advantage, and stuck close to his original quote. His work was impeccable and he tidied up everyday before he left. Oh and did I mention that his prices were really good. The Job turned out much better than I expected...Thank you Vincent!!!! I'll be Calling you again and refering you to family and friends!

This company did a great job on replacing my bathtub. My last one had standing water in it because it had a dip in the middle keeping it from draining. Now I don't have standing water in my tub all day and it made the bathroom look like new.

Let me start off by saying i'm in the construction industry and work with my seasoned general contractor Dad. I'm currently in the process of remodeling my 3 bathrooms, laundry room, tub, & shower enclosure in my home. When Brad came by to give me a bid, I purposely made sure my Dad was there so he could vet him. Long story short, Brad schooled my veteran GC father. They we're nerding out big time going into some serious nerd plumber talk. When Brad wasn't looking my Dad leaned towards me and whispered this guy is the REAL DEAL! Me being a skeptic, I went out and received a few more bids anyways. Fortunately, Brad came in $800.00 dollars lower on price than my other bids. I was relieved due to my gut implying that he had the most experience. Listed below are the things Brad accomplished in less than 30 hours of work within one weeks time. -New draining ran for new laundry room and bathroom and tied in vents for proper air intake to sewer system. -Capped off old washer hook ups. -Ran hot and cold water supply to new laundry room location. -Installed new water supply pipes and backing to new sink -Replaced, moved, and centered toilet flange. -Installed washer box into new laundry room. -Installed 1 Rain head shower valve in master shower. -Installed 1 regular posi temp shower valve for master shower. -Installed new 3 peace shower drain. -Installed new hot and cold water supplies and draining converting single vanity to double vanity. -Replaced old kids tub shower valve with new posi temp valves. -Converted 1/2" copper water mains to 3/4" for increased water pressure directed at all valves. -All his work is warranted. -Payment was requested upon completion of work. BOTH MYSELF AND FATHER HAVE NOW FOUND A SOLID PLUMBER AND PLAN TO CONTINUE TO USE HIM FOR ALL OUR FUTURE WORK.

I had Collin clean out a main drain line. Showed up with his helper and were able to get under the house and run a drum snake down the drain. He was patient and collected when assessing the situation. Happy to recommend him.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

    • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
    • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
    • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.

Follow these additional tips for confidently hiring a plumber or other skilled professional.
