Introduction: I have over 40 years of teaching experience. Because I am a collaborative pianist, performing with vocalists, instrumentalists and choirs, I am introduced to a wide range of musical styles and therefore can help students learn these styles.
My desire is to encourage students to develop their talents recognizing that they have strengths and weaknesses that can be developed. I want students to be confident, well rounded pianists and musicians.
I enjoy working with all ages and levels and seeing the students' growth and development. As students are committed and dedicated and have a desire to improve, I enjoy seeing their smiles as they become confident pianists.

My two children have studied piano with Diane Carter for about 3 1/2 years. She is an excellent teacher! She is very thorough--she teaches technique, theory, sight reading, accompanying, and performance. She introduces her students to all types of music and finds fun pieces that the students enjoy playing. She is a dedicated teacher--she gives 45 minutes lessons and she prepares and gives her complete attention to her student during those 45 minutes. I've studied the piano for more than 20 years with all types of teachers from beginning teachers to college professors. I've also taught piano lessons for about 10 years. I was so pleased when I found Diane because she's professional and she truly knows how to create a pianist. I highly recommend Diane Carter!

I have studied piano with Diane for a little over 2 years. She is an excellent teacher- she pays close attention to detail, listens attentively, provides valuable feedback and useful advice both for practicing more effectively and for playing more expressively. She is organized and professional. She has a passion for music and for teaching, and a deep knowledge of her field. In addition to her knowledge, professionalism and skills, she is fun, encouraging and understanding.

I have known Diane for many years. She has taught piano to three of my daughters. Diane is dependable, caring and creative. She is passionate about music and has helped my girls develop strengths in theory, technicality, and performance. I highly recommend Diane.
