FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Wow, it's really quite simple, I look at the date, where the event is, what is involved in the set up, how far I have to haul everything. How long the Set Up, and Take Down will take me, and what all I have to unload and load. As far as the "Music", honestly, I love doing that so much, I mostly charge for the travel time, time away from my wonderful family, set up and tear down, and playing the music is all "Free"! I love that part of the job!!! I love playing the music and doing the lights, and effects, it's the set up that isn't so fun. Just being honest! I Love the music and dancing and entertainment, and especially the weddings!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Listen to music and keep on top of top 40 and top dance hits.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Since I was a kid, I've always wanted to do this. When I was 18-19 I subbed a couple nights in a "College Bar" week day nights, and I LOVED IT! Over the years I always dreamed of doing it. Then one day I decided I would just "Do It!" So I bought old equiptment at Deseret Industries and rebuilt mixer off the internet, then I did some Freebies to get my name out there, and my wife went with me, saw I had "Real Talent" and low and behold we bought some Good Equipment, then a trailer, and then got a web site "www.DJ4Utah.com and some business cards and registered as a business, and here I am! I am told I am a Great DJ??? If I am told I am good to great, it must be true, so check me out!
