Not only have I learned a lot of core fundamental theory, technique and training, I have learned that at SLC guitar lessons are ultimately about each individual being able to express themselves to the fullest with the guitar. Would recommend to anyone wanting to better themselves in a musical kind of way.
I had a good experience with the bass teacher there. Good environment for beginners.
Really positive and makes guitar lessons enjoyable. Cares about you making progress.
I first met Mark through group guitar lessons through Davis Community Schools. I took his first and second group lessons. Since then I have been taking private lessons for almost two years now. Mark is an excellent guitar instructor. He adapts all my lessons to what I want to learn. He is patient, kind and encouraging. His favorite phrase is, "You are better today than you were yesterday!" I use to take lessons out of state for several years and never really learned anything. I never felt motivated to practice. In my two years with Mark, I have always desired to practice regularly and have made far more improvement in this short time than I ever did previously. If you are interested in lessons, or know someone who is, Mark is DEFINITELY your best choice! I have seen him work well with students of all ages. You can't go wrong with lessons from Mark DesLaurier!
My son has been studying bass with Kevin for the past 9 months and has had such a positive experience. He has gained so much self confidence and has excelled rapidly because of Kevins unique way of teaching and connecting with his students. Kevin is incredibly profesional and very talented. I would highly recommend him for lessons!
Devin you are an awesome teacher!! I've loved that both of my boys look forward to you coming. I also appreciate that you set a good example and make learning how to play fun and cool. We have great lessons with you. We feel lucky you come to our home and it's been fun getting to know you. If there was a way to motivate and get them to be better at practicing from your end that would be great!! Just isn't as fun coming from mom :)
I like Steve. He has an overall great understanding of the guitar and I really like how he focuses on applying guitar theory. It's a slow and steady progression. Which is what I need.
Great experience! Would recommend to anyone!
Ryan is a great guitar teacher. He is always patient with me and very knowledgeable about music theory.
Aaron is the most knowledgeable guitarist I know, and he is extremely patient. I highly recommend him

My lessons go far beyond just playing guitar. I include: Music theory, Singing, and overall performance techniques.Depending on the students wants and abilities. My goal is to guide my students towards their personalized music goals. Including at times piano and vocal lessons in tandem with the guitar. This varies of course by the needs of the student
I just love playing and teaching the guitar. Music is a huge part of my life, and I want to share the experience of being able to create art without necessarily picking up a pencil and paper or an easel and a brush. I am dedicated to teaching others on how to play this beautiful instrument because it's a great hobby, it's very stress relieving and just mind-sitting. Mind-sitting? Yeah! Once you learn how to play the guitar and understand the fundamentals I will help show you, playing the guitar goes from being a struggle to pin down the right notes at the same time, to like riding a wave as it gently dies out at the top of the sand and washes back into the ocean. It is very calming and surreal. You feel like a part of the instrument, and I want to share that feeling with everybody who is willing to sit down and take the time to learn such a beautiful part of life.

I'm time flexible and know what I am doing on the guitar, blues influenced. I understand music and see styles as framework and appreciate musical diversity.
