I loved my experience with Movers 123. My husband and I recently remodeled our home and all of our belongings had been stored in our garage. I received a fair quote and the team was quickly able to accommodate my schedule. They showed up on time, were so friendly and were careful not to damage any furniture or belongings. They got the job done SO FAST! I couldn't be happier!

I would definitely recommend TOSA Movers to anyone. We had some large and heavy items that had to be carried down a narrow winding stairway. They watched every corner and wall! They brought more guys than we paid for – and then stuck around to help me position the furniture and even unpack. They looked for every opportunity to go beyond what I expected. I could tell from the first moment they arrived that these men were anxious to do something good with their lives. I loved being around them and was glad I chose them as my movers. - Carol Waldron – Provo, Utah – Dec 2015

I hired Angel's Cleaning Utah to help me do a move out/deep clean service for our house. Angela was really nice and very accommodative with my keep changing needs. She was able to come a day early since our mover was moved up a day early and we ended up having a clean house a day early than we intended. Angela and her team were very thorough and very professional. I would definitely recommend her and her team to anyone who would need a cleaning service.

These guys are on the ball. Anthony set everything up, making a potentially stressful situation very easy. He sent two movers who were hard workers, professional, punctual and personable. They did their job well and didn't waste time which I appreciated. They even accommodated my last-minute move and charged less than anyone else. Very reasonable rates. I will call Right Track when I need to move again.

I hired them because I thought they were professional piano movers. I have had another company move me 3 times in the past 5 years (divorce). The were all professional looking, matching T-shirts from the company, clean, respectable looking. Erik's guys were nice enough, reeked of cigarettes, not very clean, in my opinion not a good representation for the company. But got the piano here on time safe & sound.

Best moving experience we've had so far. Lee was professional and respectful of our belongings, and took extra care to ensure no damage occurred. They showed up early, worked hard and finished much faster than I expected. Great people, great work ethic and attitude. I will recommend them to friends and others who are looking to hire professional movers. The entire process went smoothly and without incident.

We rented a moving and it wasn’t big enough for all of our things. The two movers from Checklist took the time to neatly and gently pack everything and make it work. It was 100 degrees outside and they continued to work diligently. They were Awesome and affordable.

I really enjoyed working with the Pro Movers. My job was to have them move my treadmill from downstairs to upstairs. They were careful about turns and put it exactly where I wanted it. The small tables they had to move out of the way were put back exactly where they had been. Honestly, they were perfectly centered, and I am critical down to an eighth of an inch! I especially appreciated their friendliness and professionalism throughout. I would hire them again.

Connor helped us to unload the moving boxes and furniture of a one-bedroom apartment. He carried and put our stuff carefully and finished the job in around 3.5 hours. We think that he was doing a good job and the charge is relatively low compared to other movers.

I used to use these movers from time to time when I lived in Park City. Now I've just moved back to Utah and rediscovered them through Thumbtack. SO GLAD they are still around!!! I had them unload my moving PODs. They were polite through the entire ordeal and knew how to take care of my expensive stuff. Thank you Smart Move and thank you Thumbtack.com! Samwell

A-Team Movers did a wonderful move for us. Not one thing was broken! They moved a safe down 2 flights of stairs, and a console piano in addition to our many breakable and antique furniture. The men were fast and helpful, as well as friendly and courteous. And their cost was less than others. I will gladly recommend them without reservation. Martha Parker

Scott and Tony were great! They worked hard and were very professional. They were a little late but called beforehand to let us know. The quote given (by Marisa in the office) was accurate and there were no hidden charges or up-charges when the men came. The men made the adjustmentment for their being a little late with no charge to me. We very much appreciated their help with our move and I would highly recommended them.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

  • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
  • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
  • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
  • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
  • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.
