FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Starting at $30 for a half-hour lesson per week, I provide an affordable option for piano lessons in the Salt Lake County area. I also offer 45-minute and 60-minute weekly lessons to older students as well as adults. Lessons are paid in packages, with the initial payment due on the first lesson and the second due mid-semester. Students are welcome to begin mid-semester, depending on studio enrollment. Currently, I have multiple openings throughout the week!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I match with a new customer on Thumbtack, we typically schedule a trial lesson to get to know the parent(s), the student, and talk about what goals the student has for piano lessons. If the student has any prior experience, I typically will ask them to play something so that I may begin to determine their strengths as well as areas for potential growth. However, no experience is necessary for the trial lesson! Following the trial lesson, we will schedule a regular weekly lesson. For all new students, I ask that they plan to commit to a four-month semester of weekly lessons. This may seem like a lot at first, but to really enjoy making music on the piano, it is important to make a long-term commitment to lessons as well as practicing regularly. As a teacher, I will do everything in my ability to help you grow as a musician, and make that process fun and enjoyable. However, I do expect consistent practice throughout the week. As part of the initial few weeks, we will discuss effective practice strategies and how to implement them. As a part of our lesson experience, I encourage all my students to perform. Each semester, I will have opportunities for students to share their musical talents with members of the community through various informal performances. While I do not require that my students perform outside of the lesson, I highly recommend it as a way to grow as a musician.
