Singing Lessons

I am writing this review with my ten year old daughter. Her words “I really like my teacher Diana because she helps me sing in ways I never knew I could. She helps me with my breathing so I can sing longer and stronger. She helps me have confidence in myself and the singer I am because not all singers should sound the same, she is really kind and has a pretty voice. Love Norah” As Norah’s mom I would like to say I think Diana has been great to work with, professional, yet flexible. She is so sweet with Norah, and encourages her in ways and gives her confidence like nobody else. We really have enjoyed working with her and would highly recommend her to people of all ages.

Singing Lessons (for adults)
Diana is truly a master at singing! I came to her with no formal training experience and just a desire to sing well. With the few months I have had with her I can feel myself improving! She has taught me a lot about breathing correctly as that is the core. I have almost been told to breath through my diaphragm but there is a lot more to it. With details and visualization from Diana I have improved! She has also taught me a lot about how to correctly pronounce words, which makes a huge difference in sound and breath support. Diana knows her anatomy too of singing and the vocal chords. It is refreshing to get more information on exactly how the voice works. Along with body mapping, keeping the neck lose, and a fun exercise she calls "the rag doll" I look forward to every lesson and love the improvements I have made. Diana's comforting home and fun personality is a plus. Feeling welcomed at every visit and encouraged. For anyone looking to get started in improving their singing abilities I highly recommend her.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I want to make lessons affordable, so that you can come at least 2 times a month. I give discounts for lessons bought 4 or more at a time. While I must charge the same price to everyone, you will find that I am generous with my time. Remember, learning good vocal technique from someone who really knows what they are doing is a priceless gift that you will have for your whole life. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, use it wisely.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I specialize in freeing YOUR natural voice; it does not matter what your learning background is or even what style of music you wish to sing. Come have a half price introductory lesson! You will know in the first hour what a big difference I can make for you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I hold Cum Laude (with honors) Bachelor and Master degrees in voice performance and pedagogy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. I also did Doctorate work at Juillliard in New York. I have studied at the Music Academy of the West, in Santa Barbara; at Tanglewood, in Massachusetts; at The Aspen Music Festival, Colorado; The Banff School of Music, in Alberta, Canada, the Yale Summer School of Music, etc. I have studied The Alexander Method, Pilates, Yoga, and Body Mapping and use this information in my teaching. I have learned from the best - I am passionate about sharing a lifetime of experience with you.
