FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend national conventions each year to learn more about improving my swim program. I want the staff, and clients to love their expereince at SwimKids! Once of the things I enjoy most about the national conferences is the opportunity to share ideas at a round table discussion with other swim schools. We share ideas on how to help the new beginner, how to educate our families on the importance of learning to swim and much more!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have degrees in both early childhood education and elementary education. I have always enjoyed teaching and mentoring children. It is awesome to see them learn and progress. As a child, I was a near drowning myself. When I had my own child, I was driven in my search for a program that would teach her the life saving skill of rolling to her back to float in case of an aquatic accident. Since 1983 I have taught 1000's of children to swim and enjoy the water. I am a member of the United States Swim School Association and attend conferences and network with other swim school professionals to learn new things on a continuous basis.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We teach a lot of learn to swim lessons. Our one-of-a-kind approach allows a non-swimmer to become comfortable under the water and able to float in about 8 lessons. We offer parent-tot lessons to about 100 students a week. Our stroke work program offers students ages 4 and up to move beyond survivial skills into pre-comp swimming. SwimKids lessons also provide a boost for your child's sense of achievement and helps their brain to develop in a way that will enhance abilities they need for Math, Reading, Language, Music and Problem Solving. We are interested in your child's future as well as their swimming.
