A+ service! Chuck fixed my 16 year old, neglected Carrier AC unit in no time and got my house cool again for $335. He was super personable, friendly, explanatory, and efficient. After filling the freon, he triple checked my furnace and AC with all kinds of diagnostic tools to make sure I won't have any issues with the hot summer ahead. If you have ever received quotes for AC or Furnace issues, you know most repairs are $1000 plus, and often require a whole new unit. I was expecting the worst that I might need a new AC unit for $4000+, but it was the best case scenario to pay $335 to drop the temp in the house from 85 degrees to 72 degrees in about an hour! Most companies will try to rip you off, but 1st American Plumbing is an honest operation which is hard to find nowadays. Call Chuck first and don't bother playing the shop around and waste 2 days getting an honest quote. I made one call and that's all!

Let me start by saying I truly do not do bad reviews at all cost. However I think this could save others a big headache. I hired chuck last summer to fix my newer AC unit that failed. He came out quickly, recharged it and said it was good. I could tell the lines on the outside were the same temp (one should be hot and cold when working right). He assured me it takes time, I thought maybe he was right but was suspicious since there should be some difference in temp of lines immediately if working. He charged me $300 and left. That night no change and my upstairs unit is still not working. After repeated attempts I finally got him back out. He added more coolant, assured me again, and left again. Now 6 days at 80+ degrees in my upstairs still not working. After many attempts again he came back out and told me a CV valve wasn't working and kept pushing a whole new system...it was only 3 years old and I wasn't about to swap it out. He charged me an additional $900 for the new valve to cut the old one out and we had to wait 3 weeks for the new valve to ship in, all while the outside temp was 95+ averages. One month from the start he puts the new valve in finally it works again. One week later it goes out, no return calls from chuck and no replies to texts. I finally hit the bullet and had another guy come out, he found several holes at the CV valve patched them up and recharged it it worked great. After working with the new guy, I felt like chuck, though nice, truly didn't know what he was doing. Over 4 visits to my house charging my card several times while leaving me to find a solution. When your non HVAC client knows it's not working before you leave and you tell him it takes time but see no change in the temps at all, something is wrong. Yes it takes time, but if you turn your AC on in the car and it works without being "warmed up" there are some immediate indications. Either he knew it wasn't fixed on several occasions and didn't care, or even worse he didn't know which is almost worse since he is charging people to fix their HVAC. After it was all said and done chuck did not reply and I ended up doing a visa chargeback for some of his labor cost @ $300 (which I should've done more, his only hard cost being freon). I tried to get him to refund it on his own for weeks with no communication whatsoever. The total cost for me was paying much higher utility rates for my downstairs unit, $1400 to chuck (carrier actually covered the cv valve cost) plus $250 for the other company who fixed it. We suffered through hot nights while sleeping, waited 3 weeks for a "back ordered" product plus total of an additional chasing him down to come back, a total of 4 weeks all during mid-summer. Nice guy, but beware, if you only need a simple recharge and a credit card charge they could be great, if that doesn't fix your system I would go elsewhere.
