Introduction: Honestly, almost all of the bankruptcy attorneys in the state of Utah are good to excellent, and I have a good professional relationship and personal relationship with most of them. What sets me apart is that when you call/text/or email, it goes directly to me. My staff can answer your needs generally, but I like the calls to go to me, so that you deal with me directly. I like that the fact that my job allows me to actually help people, with a definite solution. After bankruptcy your credit is shot, but you are literally at ZERO. At this point, you get a fresh start. I like the fact that people feel relief after speaking with me, and they suddenly have an option to get out of the debt and collection calls that have been haunting them. On the day I file the bankruptcy case, everything stops, and no creditor can call, sue, or garnish. I like my job because it gives immediate and lasting results.

When you see Mr. Payne's comment to current and future clients, "get some sleep and call me in the morning". That alone says you are in trusted hands. We are putting the final touches on my case, and Mr. Payne has already done a remarkable job helping me. Earlier in the year when it started to become apparent that bankruptcy was my only option, I approached a "large" firm. You have heard the old clicheque, "bigger is better", well let me tell you that does not apply to them. As I had made the decision to broaden my efforts to find representation I felt comfortable with, the individual I was assigned, informed me that he was not an actual attorney but in his own words, "a helper". I was referred to Thumbtack, and they referred me to Mr. Payne. One of the many qualities I like and admire Mr. Payne for is that he is a family man, and it is because of a reconciliation with my own son that I set out on this adventure to wring in costs, and curtail spending so I could help my son, and again when I learned Mr. Payne was a parent, I knew he understood my intentions because of my son and not because I took the attitude that I did not want to meet my monthly obligations. For those of you who are reading this and thinking, "he paid this guy to say this". Let me explain something to you, anybody could offer me all the money in the world to endorse their products or whatever, BUT, If what they wanted me to say is not the actual truth, there is NO WAY that will happen. So to those of you that have that same "bigger is better" mentality, and feel you have to be represented by a large "reputable" firm, save yourself the time, and call Mr. Payne. The first conversation you have with him, is all the convincing you will need. Oh, and by the way, you will receive top flight representation, at a much more reasonable fee.

I was referred to Robert through the Thumbtack site which was very rapid in it's response. I left messages with several other firms all of which didn't call me back till the end of the day. Robert was so kind and relaxing discussing the details of what would normally be a very stressful experience. Having had a heart attack 2 weeks prior and been stressed for many months over the financial situation, which only got horribly worse due to tons of medical bills flowing in, this was what I needed. He is accessible unlike most attorneys and is concise with the process answering all your questions and concerns. He wastes no time moving the process forward and you are basically removed from the stress once talking to him getting things moving forward. I can't say enough good things about his knowledge and expertise as it quickly becomes obvious he is well heeled in this area.

I focus almost entirely on bankruptcy and generally either (1) file bankruptcy to immediately stop a pending foreclosure sale or wage garnishment or wage levy, or (2) file a bankruptcy to discharge multiple debts which soon will start the lawsuit to judgment to garnishment process.
