Kevin is a first class musician who knows his trade and craft well, he is patient, encouraging, and methodically presents the lessons so I learn not only how to play guitar but the music theory behind as well. Too bad I had to leave Utah to return home after a few months of contract work otherwise I am sure I will continue to take lessons from this talented young man.
I had only been playing for a few months before my lessons with George, and now Ive been playing for nearly three years; having lessons for most of that time. I was a little hesitant at the idea of taking guitar lessons at first, as I had no idea what to expect from them. I had totally convinced myself that I didnt need any sort of teaching, and that I was perfectly fine to limit my playing to just guitar tablature, but that definitely didnt stop my parents from having me take lessons! For only having a small amount of time put into this instrument, I was headed down the right track with Georges influential lessons. He was able to assess my current playing and promptly started me out on things that I felt were making me improve, and that were at the right difficulty for me. George also didnt always have me play things that he wanted, but rather, he always looked for input from me, for music that I liked to play, or songs that I enjoyed listening to, and then had me work on things similar to that. Even after a couple of lessons, I felt like I had learnt so much, and improved tremendously. If you ever feel like youre stuck in a playing rut, or if you are just starting out on the guitar, then coming to George will be perfect for you. Hes incredibly smart, very experienced, well versed in all sorts of genres and techniques, super helpful in buying new guitars and other equipment, and he is totally willing to get you to where you need to be! Lessons with George were amazing for me, and totally redefined how I should play and think about playing guitar. This guy is awesome! -Harrison S West Valley City, UT
Mike is a great guitar instructor. I have been taking lessons from him using my electric guitar to learn how to play rock and metal, but he has also been teaching me theory and all things important to being really good at playing guitar in general. I have never learned to play any instrument before but have always wanted to. Mike definitely knows his stuff and is an expert at playing guitar and teaching it. I've only taken lessons for about 4 months now but am surprised at myself by how well I can already play by applying the exercises and technique he teaches me, and being an adult that says a lot, because I don't always get to practice as much as I would like. I definitely plan on continuing my lessons with Mike because it is exciting to see my progress, and I know he will help me reach my goals to play. I've had some friends tell me that it took them 2 years of playing before they even started playing songs like Master of Puppets and I'm already about to start, and have already been able to play simpler songs completely. Also, every time I have a question about anything in guitar Mike always is able to explain it to me in a way I can understand.
My kids love taking lessons from Sierra. She is fun & knowlegable.
My 8 year old daughter has been with Chords of Joy for 2 years. I took piano when I was 8 but my daughter has now surpassed my own knowledge of music, piano theory, and ability to sightread. I was leary of group lessons at first, but it has been a great benefit since the kids can gague themselves with one another. Also, the children and parents become good friends. My 10 year old son is also enrolled. He enjoys using options on the keyboards. He started years ago in traditional private lessons which somehwat hindered him. I wish I had known about Chords of Joy back then so he could have started off on the right foot. When I spoke to a musician in my neighborhood about how my children are learning solfege, she said "I wish I had known that before college. It would've made my music theory courses so much easier." Ms. Cyndi is genuine with her tolerance, patience and kindness toward each child.
I have 3 children who have all taken lessons with Susie. She is very professional, has a lot of fun with her students but expects them to work hard. It has been fun to watch the growth of each of my children with her. She has even taken extra time to help them with their school performances and talent shows. She's an amazing teacher and even more excellent role model.
I have had my first lesson. He is very knowledgable about guitar and therory. looking forward to seeing just where it goes. Very good supplys given and the book seems to be a well rounded curiculum
I've took lessons from Justin a few years ago, he's really great and encouraging. He has a great knowledge in guitars, technique and theory. I even learned something in music theory that I still use to this day and is far more useful than the standard circle of 5ths chart given to me in a music theory class that didn't teach me this trick. I would highly recommend him.
I love music! I have been playing the ukulele for 3 years. I am an ambitious guy, and I want to see you succeed as much as you do.
