Handyman arrived on time with his own tools & immediately began to work. He was knowledgeable about the project & referred to the directions only once.Feb 19, 2019Verified
Initial meeting went well. He visited my house to see the moving job as well as see pics from the secondary pickup location. Terms were agreed. The initial packing went ok with 3 guys sent to pack up the house. The trouble started with loading the truck. He was 2 hours late arriving. 1- I immediately knew the uhaul rental truck was too small for all of the items. 2- none of the guys showed up to do the loading! 3- he told me they must be in an accident but told my mom that he didn’t need a lot of help loading. 1 new guy came and my son in law helped with a broken finger and 2 of his friends helped. Even with this it took until almost 11:30 PM to complete loading, after picking up a 2nd truck which was smaller than the first! So still no room for the 2nd pick up location. Frustrations were high, furniture wasn’t wrapped, boxes broke open... we had to canx the 2nd pickup until the next day. Day 2- 2nd location picked up on time. 3 trucks delivered to final destination, boxes unloaded with 3 men, son in law and a friend, furniture dropped in the mud! Fine china broken, crystal long stem glass broken, a picture looked like it had been shot, missing screws from almost everything, missing legs from several items! We agreed on a discounted fee due to all of the issues and I canceled any further “handyman “ items I was going to hire him for. We did move up the load by 1 day due to snow, 2 days of storage instead of 1 but regardless, I don’t know why he didn’t have the required help for such a big job. As I had to be out by a determined date, I was locked in to using him.Feb 25, 2019VerifiedGNG Services Unlimited's reply
The four days agreed to for the move were condensed into two upon arrival for the first day of the move. There were sufficient staff and vehicles even with the items the customer did not include in the agreement. The Customer was immediately informed that there would be delays with loading with such major changes on short notice. Changes were due to customers needs not the weather. Customer insisted upon family helping to "speed things up" ultimately the son in law broke the items as witnessed by staff. Customer did not give notice of the multiple vendors that were on site that compromised entry into the home forcing entry through muddy paths. I assume full responsibility for any shortcomings and discounted the move deeply well beyond the days of storage. We also provided free unpacking services to assist you in locating the items you could not locate.
My experience with GNG was amazing from beginning to end! Mr. Grant quickly responded to my inquires about hiring them and answered all my questions. On moving day they arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. In addition, the team went above and beyond by putting together my bed and answering a number of questions I had about my townhome. Mr. Grant is very knowledgeble about homes and offers additional services i.e. mounting tv and other handyman services which is great. I would 100% recommend GNG to anyone needing assistance with moving.Mar 22, 2019
Gary showed up when he said he would (within a wiggle window) & replied promptly to messages. He was very personable & repaired tiles & wall in shower that had eroded. He wasn't able to match tile & grout color, but it looks quite functional & we look forward to having a working shower again!Sep 19, 2019Verified
Really helpful. Offered DIY solutions before coming on site to charge. Not easy to find that type of generosity today. Awesome person.Sep 8, 2019Verified
