Public speaking goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Not to sound immodest, but others don't do what we do. Oftentimes communication/public speaking classes are impersonal classroom experiences where students are lectured to. In our classes we limit the size of the class to give every student multiple opportunites to get on their feet and practice, practice, practice. We videotape certain sessions and give the students a tape/DVD so that they can learn from their performances. Our proprietary curriculum not only addresses the many aspects of interpersonal communication, but is strongly tailored for application in all settings - professional, academic, and social. Our instructors all have many years of public speaking experience and are exceptional teachers.

I am the head of a growing non-profit organization in Washington, DC. I never had any problems speaking with my clients or donors one-on-one, but had big problems with networking, addressing even small groups of my cohort professionals, and especially giving presentations to potential funders. I've taken a Dale Carnegie course, but found it too impersonal. PowerCommunicators' biggest lesson to me was to "be conversational" with whomever I spoke - even with groups. I consider myself good at what I do, but the much-needed help I got from Ed and his team has made me even more effective. Plus, it only took a few sessions. - D. Packer, President, Packer List, Inc.

Dr. Lynne Long – President, Long View Associates - “I was with Ed when he started PowerCommunicators in 2003, teaching its content and delivery to teachers in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, and numerous other East Coast cities. These teachers then taught the program to hundreds of K-12 students regionally. Based on the overwhelming success of these efforts, Ed added public speaking instruction for adults in community colleges, corporate environments, and one-on-one coaching. Ed’s coaching team is first rate!”
