- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The standard charge ranges from $55-$75/hour, depending on the needs of the client. For the first one or two sessions we get together for at least an hour-and-a-half, maybe two. The charge is still only for an hour [$55-$75/hour].
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before we even get together, I listen - either by phone call or face-to-face - to what a prospective client is interested in achieving overall, both short- and long-term, e.g., career goals, personal aspirations, specific task-oriented goals, confidence. If PowerCommunicators can help, we get together the first time for at least an hour-and-a-half, maybe two. The charge is still only for an hour [$55-$75]. We talk some more about objectives, then the PowerCommunicators curriculum is briefly outlined and tailored to the client's needs. Several segments of the program are also taught, and there are several interactive exercises that take place during this first get-together. Occasional "Homework" assignments are also suggested so that the client can begin practicing several communication/success techniques starting with this first session. If the client likes where the program is going and feels that it is aligned with his/her goals...we take it from there.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After many years of mentoring and tutoring at-risk K-12 students in Washington, DC, it hit me one day that their communication skills were lacking, and that without these tools my students greatly compromised their chance of achieving their dreams and realizing their full potential.
