Nema Taghavi is the best instructor I have ever experienced, he took his time and explained every detail of my course with me with such patience and knowledge. He instructed me through Algebra 2 and statistics and I got an A in both classes. I used a different instructor for Algebra 1 and got only a C, so it was refreshing to find such a pleasant and knowledgeable tutor, he is well worth the money spent!!!!

Mr. Mougy Ahmed has done wonders as a math tutor for our sophomore son! He has a very agreeable, non-threatening tutoring style, and our son enjoyed working with him right away. Our son was getting D's and C's in Algebra II , even with the assistance of a previous math tutor. Mougy came to our house and immediately recognized where our son was misunderstanding foundational concepts in Algebra II, and worked with him to build up that knowledge base and apply those skills correctly. He has been highly responsive in setting up tutoring sessions, sending additional lessons/exercises via email, and even holding extra sessions in advance of math tests/quizzes. As a direct result of Mougy's tutoring, our son earned a B+ and an A on his last two math tests. We highly recommend him to any student or parent who is searching for tutoring assistance.

Prior to tutoring, two things were holding my daughter back on the SAT- the math section and her confidence. Alex was the perfect tutor to improve both of those areas. He provided clear teaching in math that honed in on the areas where she needed the most help. He was consistently positive and encouraging, helping her believe in herself. This led to her math score jumping 180 points.

Reetika is fantastic! She worked with my daughter to make significant improvements on her Algebra 2 comprehension. With Reetika's patience and knowledge, my daughter's grade improved from a below average score to being top in her class. She was amazing in explaining and demonstrating the needed skills to bring a remarkable understanding to my daughter. I attribute my daughter's outstanding SAT score to the guidance and lessons received with the tutoring form Reetika. Can't say thank you enough to a very wonderful person !!!

I recently had to prepare for an SAT test and needed to get a higher score. Mighty Oaks Tutoring had a great program that taught me math, English, Reading, and Writing skills for the subjects on the test. In fact, I learned 400 SAT vocab words in just 8 weeks! Now I know what they mean and can answer questions better. I fully expect my score to go up. Thank you Mighty Oaks Tutoring I will tell my friends!

Ondria has performed as my daughter's math tutor since September 30 of 2013. My daughter would not have passed Algebra 2/Trigonometry had it not been for Ondria. She is patient, knowledgeable and very professional. I would recommend her to anyone in need of tutoring services. She is also very respectful in mannerism. I can't say enough about her services.

Mr. Glass tutored my son this year in Algebra 2. My Son was struggling majorly. His grade at the end of the first quarter was extremely low. He began working with Mr. Glass twice a week shortly after the first quarter. This helped tremendously!! My son has a B now and is about to graduate High School. Mr. Glass was very patient and extremely effective in helping him with homework. This helped tremendously with his quiz and tests. Mr.Glass was always on time and if we needed extra support before an exam he was glad to add extra time. I was very satisfied with him as my sons tutor !! He will be working with my younger son soon too!

Academic Connections has truly been a god send for our daughter and the key to her math success in both Algebra II and Pre calculus. Megan took such care to make sure we had the perfect tutor. We receive a written update after each tutoring session. This really helps us to know exactly where how she is doing currently. Our daughter has gone from a "D" student to an "A"! Thank you Megan and Tammy!

After many years in private school, I decided to give public school a try. I quickly learned that even in a great school district - with overpopulated classes and overworked teachers - my child was being deprived of the basic tools to build a solid educational foundation. I set out to find someone who could help reinforce these basics that I remember learning that are missing in today’s curriculum. Ms. Judy far exceeded my expectations. From day one, she figured out how to engage my 3rd grader and make learning fun. In fact, she quite often says Ms. Judy taught me this or that...I haven’t heard her say that about her school teacher all year!!! After only 3 sessions, I’m more than pleased. She’s also taken time to communicate with my 3rd grader’s teachers to ensure that she is reinforcing their current curriculum. If you are looking for someone to help your kids build that solid educational foundation, look no further than Ms. Judy!

Mrs.Fitts taught me more in a short 7 week period than my own algebra teacher taught me in an entire year. Not only was she an amazing instructor, she was genuinely invested in my learning and growth as a student. In school, there is always a fear of getting an answer wrong or raising your hand to ask a question, because you are afraid your teacher will ridicule you for not knowing or accuse you of not paying attention. Mrs. Fitts always encouraged asking questions, no matter how small and was never once bothered in answering them. In fact, she was more than happy to answer as many questions as possible so I never experienced any self doubt or held back anything, which was a first for me. Her way of instructing is not robotic, it is catered differently for every student, and if one does not like the way things are going, Mrs. Fitts encourages you to speak up and tell her what needs to change in order to make you feel most comfortable. Learning with her was never a drag, I sincerely enjoyed doing work with her and can say with full confidence that she is an incredible instructor!

Laura is working with my daughter on her writing. When we initially met with her, she presented her credentials, she conducted a comprehensive interview to learn more about my daughter, and she thoroughly answered all questions. My daughter describes her as nice and reports that she allows her to move at her own pace and that each session is geared toward her and her needs. She conducts assessments to understand my daughter's way of learning and makes herself available by email to review work. I am pleased to have such a competent and committed educator working with my child!

I strongly recommend Theo if someone is looking for a math tutor. Theo tutored my daughter during the summer. She failed Algebra and had to take the class in the summer. Theo was able to explain the concepts and teach my daughter how to solve the Algebra problems. After just 2 tutoring sessions my daughter had a better understanding of the Algebra concepts. My daughter received an 87 as her grade for Algebra 1. I strongly recommend Theo without any reservations. Theo is patient and it's a bittersweet departure hoping Theo returns back to DC.

I worked with Sylvia for two years when she was the learning specialist at the Washington International School and I was a tutor who provided supplemental instruction for students in English. I found Sylvia to be very attentive and concerned about her students both in and outside of the classroom. Sylvia regularly kept me informed about what was going on in their classes and at home so I could tailor my lessons accordingly. For example, a student I was tutoring in ESL experienced a death in the family, and Sylvia and I worked together to create a lesson that allowed the young girl to write about her family member and express her sadness. Sylvia very much had an open door policy as well, and was always encouraging students to come speak to her if they needed guidance. I would recommend Sylvia as a highly knowledgeable and supportive resource to any student.

I received tutoring for Algebra 2 - Precalculus from Andrew several years ago. The teachings were concise and straightforward, and Andrew does an excellent job of making difficult concepts easily understandable. His laid-back and friendly approach made the sessions much more enjoyable, and he would answer any questions I had beyond academics - such as life in college, and beyond. 5/5

Nikesha's services are superior. Her competence, modes of delivery and breaking down concepts provided the skillset my daughter needed to progress well in Algebra 2. I would recommend her over any math organization for in-depth mathematics tutoring. We have had one session and I am already seeing a difference.
