I recently hired DTS1 to diagnose and fix my Dell laptop. Caliph was friendly, responsive, and flexible. He came to my home to do the service, which was very convenient. My total fee was higher than my original quote, but that was due to the problem being more involved that originally thought; we originally discussed just an assessment and clean up, but we ended up having to reinstall the OS. I thought the fees were reasonable. My only negative was about time: I was not notified of exactly how long the repair would take (over two hours) and he was a little late for our appointment (20-30min, and he did let me know he was running late). But these things were only a minor inconvenience. I was happy that Caliph narrated his work so I understood what he was doing, and that he educated me about preferred technology and recommended software upgrades. Overall, I was happy with my experience with DTS1 and would hire them again.

I had to stop my car rapidly and my drink spilled onto my computer case. Somehow, the water found it's way to the screen which now looked like a lava lamp. Andreas went over the possible outcomes and costs involved upfront. He actually wanted to try and see if he could just clean the LCD screen. If that did not work, he would have to replace the screen. Today, very few people will try to save you money and just jump to the easiest fix and not care about the cost. Andreas actually cares!!! Turns out, he had to replace the screen as he told me. The costs were very inexpensive compared to others in the laptop repair service community. Andreas kept me abreast of the situation when parts were ordered, came in and when the computer was ready. He was organized, friendly, efficient, went beyond the call of duty. He service was outstanding and his prices were even better. Thanks to Andreas, my laptop is just as good as the day I bought it. I would HIGHLY recommend Andreas for his professional and friendly service!!!

He did a great job, was very professional and did the work in our home at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Wullf's Worx!! Don't have any doubts, don't have any second thoughts, use them to fix your stuff. They deliver as promised. I will definitely use them again should I need too!

Well had a great experience. I had my iPhone 6 Plus screen cracked and also had some battery issues not only this guy repaired both coming to my house and giving me his services but also charged me twice as less if I had to take it to the malls or any other place. Also what I experienced with this guy was while he was repairing my phone gave me all the information as to how it is done the next time I need to repair without being greedy and not disclosing his biz secrets. Very impressed and strongly recommend to get any of your gadgets fixed with them. Great job phonegure and thank you.

Rick opened up my defective laptop and homed in on the problem by tearing the laptop down, rebuilding it and finding out many defects in building and repairing this ASUS Laptop. Finally, a good second opinion. I will ask Rick for his services and recommend him to my friends. Any PC or laptop I buy I will give it to him in the original packaging to tear down and see any defects. I do not trust vendors anymore after my ASUS Laptop ROG G750JW-DB71.

I think this computer shop is great, met these guys passing flyers at silver spring metro and told me they can fix my cell phone cracked screen and will give me 10% off. I have a iPhone 5s that i dropped while I was running down stairs. It was shattered completely, i went to various repair shops but all were very expensive, hell i can order the part and install it but i don't feel comfortable opening my phone up that cost me $300. Any-who, I left it at the shop with Zeid, he ordered the part within 2 days it has arrived, he text me to let me know and installed it same day. I was impressed with his service and the price of $100 was very affordable being a dad with 3 kids. I was impressed with the service. I would use his services again if I have a problem.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to fix an iPhone screen?

A broken iPhone screen doesn’t have to mean shelling out major money for a new phone. iPhone repair is an easy solution for a cracked or damaged iPhone screen that will have it looking as good as new in no time. The size of your iPhone will affect screen cost. Another factor that affects iPhone repair cost is whether you want to have your LCD repaired or replaced at the same time that you have your screen fixed. If you have AppleCare (Apple’s insurance), screen repair costs an additional $29 fee. Prices for Apple’s screen repair without AppleCare coverage vary based on your screen size. Here are some examples of average cost from less expensive third-party providers:

    • iPhone 5/5S/5C: $75, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone SE: $124.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 6: $99.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 6 Plus/6S: $125, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 7/7 Plus: $174.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 4/4S: $70, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 5/5S/5C: $80, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone SE: $80, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6: $90, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $100, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6S: $110, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6S Plus: $130, glass and LCD repair.

How much does it cost to replace the screen on an iPhone 6?

An iPhone screen can crack fairly easily, so it’s always recommended to use a shock-absorbing case and a tempered glass screen protector to help keep your investment safe. Replacing the screen on your iPhone 6 will vary in price depending on which iPhone 6 model you have and who provides the repair. Third-party vendors provide lower-cost service than Apple for iPhone repair, unless you have Apple’s product insurance, AppleCare. Here are some examples of iPhone 6 screen and LCD average repair costs from third-party providers:

    • iPhone 6: $90.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $100.
    • iPhone 6S: $110.
    • iPhone 6S Plus: $130.

You may prefer to have your iPhone repaired by Apple. If you have AppleCare, your screen repair cost will be $29, but if you don’t have this coverage, iPhone repair will cost more from Apple than from a third-party vendor. Here are some examples of average iPhone screen repair cost when provided by Apple without AppleCare:

    • iPhone 6: $129.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $149.
    • iPhone 6s: $149.
    • iPhone 6s Plus: $169.

The average national cost for an iPhone technician is $80-$100 per hour

How much is it to fix a water-damaged iPhone?

If your iPhone has been damaged by water, there’s still hope. It often costs less to repair an iPhone than to buy a new phone, and you can save your contacts, photos and other stored data. If you have AppleCare, the extended warranty provided by Apple, your coverage includes two incidents of accidental damage for repair at the rates listed below. Using a third-party provider can save you money; however, once an outside vendor has done work on your phone, your warranty may be voided and Apple may no longer provide service for your phone. Here are Apple’s charges for iPhone repair for water damage (classified as “other damage” on their website):

    • iPhone X: $549.
    • iPhone 8 Plus: $399.
    • iPhone 8: $349.
    • iPhone 7 Plus: $349.
    • iPhone 7: $319.
    • iPhone 6s Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6s: $299.
    • iPhone 6: $299.
    • iPhone SE: $269.
    • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $269.
    • iPhone 4s: $199.
    • iPhone 4: $149.
    • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G: $149.

How much does it cost to fix the Home button on an iPhone?

If the Home button on your iPhone has stopped working, it might be time for professional help. If your Home button problem is caused by a faulty product and you’re under warranty, the repair will be free. However, if you (or your dog who stepped on the phone) are the culprit, there will be a fee for repair. iPhone repair costs will vary depending on the model of your phone, who is providing the service, and whether your phone is under warranty or you have the extended warranty called AppleCare. If Apple repairs an iPhone that is out of warranty, the cost will be higher than from a third-party provider. One reason to consider paying more for repair by Apple is that using an outside service for repairs can sometimes void other Apple warranties that are in effect for your iPhone. Home button repair falls under Apple’s “other damage” repair pricing category, which costs a flat fee of $99 under AppleCare. If your phone is out of warranty, here are some of the average prices you can expect to pay to repair a Home button:

    • iPhone 8 Plus: $399.
    • iPhone 8: $349.
    • iPhone 7 Plus: $349.
    • iPhone 7: $319.
    • iPhone 6s Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6s: $299.
    • iPhone 6: $299.
    • iPhone SE: $269.
    • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $269.
    • iPhone 4s: $199.
    • iPhone 4: $149.
    • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G: $149.
