I can't say enough how satisfied I was with the service. I had pet stains on my carpet that would come out. The crew cane and assessed the damage. Within 1 hour my carpet looked brand new. The crew was professional, thorough, and curteous. I would absolutely use them again.

Couldn't have been more satisfied with the service and the cost was affordable exactly as quoted. We had several lingering pet stains on the carpet and they did a supreme job of removing them completely. I would use them again for any future cleaning requirements.

Walt was great. Arrived on time, even alerted us about an earlier time due to a cancellation. He was professional and friendly, even took time to pet the dog. He assessed the problem and repaired quickly in the same day. He also guarantees his work for a year. Would definitely recommend his services to anyone who has repairs.

Did a very good job cleaning our cat-hair covered apartment. Was half an hour late but understandable for the rush hour commute to DC. Would use them again.

Max's work quality was excellent. All the stains on my suede couch were dispatched after Max used his environmentally safe sprays and his cleaning machine. He kept vigorously cleaning even after I couldn't see the stains any more. I was very happy with the results and will definitely use him in the future. He was on time, very friendly and got the job done!

My poor little puppy dog got sick and made quite the mess, so after getting in contact with Healthy green cleaners we set an appointment for the next day. The team (Val & Selvin ) arrived early and were very professional and friendly. They did great work, paying extra attention to the "trouble spots". My carpet looks better than it did when I moved in. What's even better is I was told it would take an hour and they were done in 40 min, leaving no odor of cleaning products or overwhelming perfume. I am, one very happy customer.

the cleaning of two old wing back chairs. a good job was provided with care and professionalism. they where on time and called prior to the service. I would certainly call them again. my only concern is that the quoted price was different from the price quoted after seeing the chairs. I just wish that there had been clarity on the original quote to expect different pricing. also it would have been very helpful if the original quote had the price break down for different types of cleaning products/services that maybe needed. such as deep cleaning, steam cleaning, and a fabric protection product, etc. other than that keep up the good work.

Michael did an excellent job. Prior to coming to do the job, he was available by telephone to explain the process. He was great to work with. He went out of his way and came to my place on a Sunday to do the job. A fantastic guy, who has a vast amount of experience and skill with odor removal. I have a friend who has a similar situation and I have highly recommended Michael Davis services.

I had a last minute request for carpet cleaning services as my dog decided she wanted to use the bathroom after her walk and not during. Even though I tried cleaning it myself, the odor still remained in my home and it was quite irritating. Greg responded to my inquiry for services and literally was able to come to my residence within 30 minutes since he wasn't far from my area. He clearly walked me through the services, any add-ons and honored his online quote. I like that almost immediately I started to smell a very fresh lemon scent as he started to clean my carpets. My carpets now look amazing and the odor is gone. I'll certainly be using his services in the future. Very impressed.

I had one room that needed to be steam cleaned as my dog had made a couple of messes that I had tried to clean myself but you could still smell the odor. Bryan was at my house within a week of my request. He explained the process to me in terms I can understand. I was left with a completely clean carpet that should stay that way for a while. Extremely happy with the results and will definitely call Annie's Carpet Care again in the future.

Due to pet accidents we had a piece of badly stained carpet replaced. I appreciate good workmanship and this was a first class repair that is virtually un-noticeable. Orlando took his time and did a great job. Highly recommended!!

Century Cleaning was amazing to work with. They were fast in responding to my inquiries and the service tech who came to my home was professional, polite, and hard working. My couch looks great. While I wish the deodorizer had taken more of the odors out of the couch, it looks great and I would recommend their services to my friends and family.

J.C and A Carpets did a wonderful job. They cleaned our rugs the day before we left for vacation and the house still-smelled clean and looked beautiful upon our return. They were able to remove pet stain and odor. The owners were friendly, helpful and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend🙂🙂

To quote George Steinbrenner about George on Seinfeld, "Hire This Man". Matt is the best contractor we have worked with. We had a very ugly white tile kitchen floor and Matt came in to provide an estimate. We bought the supplies, which he picked up for us, and he quoted us the labor cost, which was extremely reasonable for 6 days of work. Matt showed up on time each day, even coming over on a Sunday for a few hours. He was very transparent in what he was going to be completing each day and met the objective each time. He is very friendly (even stopping to pet our dogs who bothered him a few times) and personable. He even told us that we still had a few extra items left over and returned them to the store for to get us a refund. I feel like most contractors wouldn't tell you if you have left over supplies, but not him! When he was done with the project, he cleaned up everything, wiping down anything that may have gotten dirty as a result. He is very careful, laying out plastic protectors so dust didn't settle on our counter tops. I normally don't shell out 5 star reviews, but Matt is very deserving. He will be our go to when we get the bathroom floors redone in the near future!

I own a rental home in Glen Burnie and the carpets there to be cleaned as soon as possible, there were sooo many stains on them and they smelled like cat urine from the previous owner. I decided I should look around for a good carpet cleaning company rather than trying myself. So after looking around I came across MJ Home Services and decided to call them to come in and clean my carpets. I called and scheduled a time and they came out and cleaned the carpets very well. Also the carpets were cleaned in an appropriate amount of time. The stains and odors before were gone I was and still am very pleased with the results. Also the price was fair $250 and the person who came out was very professional, he definitely knew what he was doing. I would absolutely recommend MJ Home Services to anyone so if you need your carpets cleaned defiantly call them you will not be disappointed.

Nathan did an absolutely wonderful job on my sectional. It had a mildew smell to it from sitting in a wet basement and he was able to remove the dirt and odor. It is actually 10 years old but, looks almost as good as when I purchased. I highly recommend PCCP for quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism.

There was a terrible odor in my bedroom closet. It was hard to determine exactly where it was coming from. David was great! I called him on Sunday evening and he was here on Monday morning right on time. He found the culprit (a dead mouse inside the wall) and was able to get the poor thing out with a minimal amount of disruption to the closet wall. The interior wall was sanitized and all is good now. Will definitely call upon David again when needed.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

What is upholstery cleaning?

From your carpets to your drapes to your furniture, all fabrics need to be cleaned. Cleaning upholstery, or the fabric on your furniture, removes the dirt and oils that are transferred to couches and chairs through regular use. Because furniture upholstery can be delicate and colors can fade easily, it’s often a good idea to let professional sofa cleaners handle the job. They’ll determine the type of fabric — usually cotton, linen, wool, suede or microfiber — and the appropriate method for cleaning it, either steam-cleaning or applying a dry-cleaning solvent. In general, cleaning an entire piece of furniture includes a pretreatment, cleaning, and neutralizing rinse to the body, plus removing and cleaning all cushions and cleaning all crevices.

An upholstery cleaner may clean the entire piece of furniture, on a regular schedule or by request, or do spot treatments to remove pet, food, drink, or oil and grease stains. Furniture can also be deodorized to remove the smell of pets or tobacco smoke. Furniture that’s used often, like that in your family room, should be cleaned once a year to keep it fresh and extend its life. Sofa cleaners often also offer repair services to mend tears in fabric or patch holes in leather.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.
