James was prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable, and skilled in his craft. I would highly recommend him to family, friends, and neighbors. He performed all plumbing work as requested including a tub install and re-routing of copper and PVC piping for tub and vanity. He completed all the work in one day.
We hired Jose and his team to cover our porch, steps and walkway with flagstone. The team did a great job and we absolutely love the outcome; our home now looks polished and inviting! I really appreciated how Jose explained all that he and his team would need to do during the project--including removing and re-installing bannisters/railings to allow for the increased height of the flagstone. That's a part of the project that I would never have thought of--and we appreciated how the different parts of the project were itemized in the quote. Jose was great at communicating with us and providing us project updates. We ran into weather delays (it rained for many days in a row), but his team was still able to do a little bit each day. Jose also was good at letting us know that some of our landscaping would get some wear and tear during the project. I appreciated the heads up and how his team tried to minimize the damage as much as possible. Unfortunately we did things backwards and had new landscaping before the hardscaping. Lesson learned for us, as we had to put more money into landscaping--so keep that in mind--none of that was their fault! I would definitely recommend J.Portillo Construction, LLC..
I hired Antonio (Tony) Sanchez from Renaissance Restoration to complete a kitchen renovation this past fall (sorry I did not get around to completing this review sooner!). I did all the demolition, but the job included lights and electrical, plumbing repair, cabinet and counter top install, appliance install, and painting. Tony gave a very reasonable estimate and personally worked on my project with his assistant from start to finish as opposed to having one of his employees complete the job. As he began the job, he soon realized that virtually nothing from the original construction was square (townhouse was built in 1987). However, that did not phase him as he had the skills to adjust making those imperfections unnoticeable in the end. In addition, Tony has skills in most of the trades which meant that he did not have to sub different parts of the job out; he did all the electrical, plumbing and carpentry himself. The best part of my experience working with Tony was that he discussed and explained different options or ways of completing a task to ensure there were no surprises, and I was impressed with his willingness to even teach me a little along the way. He was flexible in allowing me to have a friend install the tile floor and was understanding of my need to stick to a rather tight budget. There are only two comments I could make for overall improvement: cleanliness and timeliness. On a couple of occasions, I had to discard empty food containers and drinks that had been left behind. I attributed this to oversight and could be easily improved by making an effort to clean up the work site after each day of work. Considering it was not a space I was using though, it was not that big of a deal. As for timeliness, the project took longer than expected to complete. However, I know that my involvement did have some impact on the schedule and the fact he was doing the work himself while still managing other jobs is a factor. I would not hesitate to bring Tony in for another project in the future. I am completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him to anyone.
I first hired Marvin to paint and frame 44 newly installed wooden windows in my historic row home. Because I was so impressed with his professionalism and superb quality of work, I contracted him for additional services including porcelain tile installation, surfacing and reframing a roof deck, and completing the finishes of a previous contractor. If you want to hire a competent company that takes price in their work and delivers high quality services, Baiza Construction Inc. should be your choice.
We originally hired Unlimited Resources to helped with mold remediation and demolition. We ended up hiring them to help install drywall, install cabinets, and install flooring. Overall we are happy with the out.
Carlos, has been great! He completed my project and went above and beyond what was requested. I am very satisfied with the fence he installed for me.
Scheduled a video inspection of my chimney, but once George took a look, he knew he didn't need to do one, so didn't charge me for the video inspection and only for the basic inspection. I had bought the house less than a year prior, I know nothing about fireplaces/chimneys. We had a wood burning stove insert but the previous owners did not have it installed properly, so George walked us through some options and recommendations we could do if we want to be able to use the fireplace safely in the future.
New driveway install: After five estimates I decided to go with Mauricio his price was very reasonable. He guaranteed his work for one year. Mauricio showed up to the job site on time and professionally completed the job by the time he promised to. Will use him again to build my patio.
Norlan was great, was the quickest and best quote, he advised on his labor separate from the water heater of my choice. He picked up for me and just added to the total. He also pointed out damage to the new water heater from Home Depot and offered to exchange it on the spot which I was thankful for. Did not take the old tank but we did not discuss this before and I had to go to dump anyway. I will use Norlan again and have retained his contact info for future work. By the way, the install seems to be fine and working perfectly.
My husband and I have been using D&A Design for the past 8 years for home improvements on our rental properties as well as in our home. Throughout the years they have installed carpet, expanded closets and bathrooms and handled the necessary upgrades for our rentals. In our home, D&A Design transformed our unfinished basement into a beauty of its own, creating a fabulous bar, waterfall, bathroom, theatre room and a beautiful stoned patio! We LOVE them and their work! I'm extremely particular and I know when I call on them for their services I'll be 110% satisfied. Thanks D&A for everything and I look forward to many more years of GREAT service!!
i AM A CONTRACTOR MYSELF AND IRONICALLY A SOD INSTALLATION COMPANY. I DISLIKE WHEN THESE REVIEWS CAN AFFECT A REPUTATION SO MUCH, AND IN THIS CASE FOR WHAT EVER REASON, THEY NEVER EVEN WORKED AT THE CUSTOMER'S HOUSE. PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY BEARING ON THE ONE STAR REVIEW. IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED.
Mr.Jimenez is extremely professional, courteous, and friendly. He pointed the back side of my home...three stories...made certain I had no foundation issues- which meant replacing some brick...and he repaired my roof and replaced my gutters. His work is exceptional. What struck me as so refreshing is that Mr.Jimenez treated my home as though it was his. He and his crew are extremely detail and quality oriented. It is obvious that they take pride in their work. Also, unlike other services which I had received quotes from, no unnecessary work was recommended. There was never an effort on his behalf to upsell. I truly appreciated that. If integrity, quality, and reasonable cost of services is important to you- then I highly recommend speaking to Masonry Restoration Services. I have already recommended his services to my neighbors and friends. Thank you again Mr. Jimenez for such excellent work and communicating with me every step of the way what needed to be done. And thank you for cleaning up better than I would have myself!

I've been an architectural coating installer since about 1980 in Washington, D.C. area and Baltimore, MD. I specialize in 10 different kinds of plasters. I've done a good amount of clay plasters which is very good for sound, and it improves the environment for eating and sleeping. I am an architectural coatings installer -- meaning, that I install very beautiful wall finishes for both commercial and residential interior and exterior projects. I have worked on projects in the Washington, D.C.; Detroit; New York City; and Miami. I specialize in 10 different kinds of plasters, stucco and paints. I also do a good amount of clay plasters, which are very good for the environment, working with sound density and has very pleasing properties that regulate humidity and temperature. Other important benefits of clay are that its antistatic and antifungal properties, which unlike many other building materials provide a healthy and a more balanced environment. Clay is warm in the winter and cool in the summer but very soft in natural tones. Dining and sleeping is a very serene experience. As a colorist, texture and light are very important. There is also a beautiful plaster that can be installed in wet areas, such as baths and kitchens. I also repair and finish sheetrock and do great painting. Portfolio samples and photographs are available.
