Q&A Do you offer a private tasting for wedding cakes? Yes, by appointment. Because each item will be freshly baked and customized, there is a tasting fee of $15.00 per item. How do you price your products? Wedding cakes are priced per person. Cupcakes and Cookies are individually priced. Please refer to pricing section of the website. How far in advance do I need to place my order? For wedding cakes, we would like to start working with you to design your special cake 23 months before the wedding. Large cupcake orders should be placed 72 hours prior to your event. Large cookie orders generally require two weeks advance notice, but if our schedule permits and we feel that we can provide you with the quality product we pride ourselves on delivering, we will work with you in a shorter time frame. Rush charges may apply depending on the time frame. Will you work with the brides florist to garnish the wedding cake? Yes, we understand the need to coordinate your wedding cake garnishments with your florist and the overall wedding theme. Your florist will need to provide and deliver the flowers to us or make arrangements prior to event date. Are cake accessories available? Cake accessories which can enhance the elegance and appearance of your wedding cake are available for rent: -silver cake plateaus -columns -cake stands and candles -water fountain A refundable deposit is required to ensure the rented items are returned in proper condition within three (3) days of your event. All items must be returned clean, and in the condition in which they were received. Are you licensed? Yes, Icing for Joy holds the required Inspection Certification from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and permit from Fairfax County. What is the maximum delivery area and how do I get a quote? There is a $25.00 fee for delivery within 10 miles of our location in Fairfax, Va. There is an additional $10.00 for every 5 miles up to 50 miles. For deliveries of more than 50 miles please contact us for a quote. There may be instances where a special handling fee will be imposed due to the size or shape of the product. What methods of payment do you accept? We accept all major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Amex), personal checks, and paypal. I'm a professional event planner or retail business.
