FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always on the lookout for good tutorials, and keep up a subscription to Lynda.com for more in-depth training needs. I also attend Photoshop World when possible and attend courses through Creative Live.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of presentations and proposal graphics. I create templates that adhere to branding guidelines. I also do a lot of desktop publishing and word processing, including proposals, reports, books, newsletters, programs, and forms. I support events with products such as signs, trade show booths, marketing collateral, brochures, and invitations. I occasionally design web sites, as well.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Have clear requirements and a good idea of what you are looking for. If you can't explain what you need and/or have envisioned to the designer, they are not going to be able to read your mind (though I will certainly try, by asking the right questions). Also, a designer can't estimate their time if they do not have a clear idea of the scope of work. Make sure you and the designer have an understanding about how many revisions are included in the initial estimate; it's usually fine to go over this number as long as you understand it will effect deadlines and cost.
