I've taught private lessons on piano/keyboard, violin/fiddle, guitar, clarinet the most. I've taught in band and orchestra/strings classes in schools part-time.

Ask specific questions about what the provider's musical strengths and weaknesses are. Try to balance learning from their strengths and having them cater to your musical interests.
